Lulu’s Tacos — Restaurant in Richmond

Friendly service. Nice setting eating in. We ate outside. Room for 14 people out there. I don't like eating outside, usually, due to people and auto traffic at most restaurants. However, this place is far from busy National Rd (St. Rte 40) any people traffic is very temporary as they go in to eat. Very pleasant. Our server was very kind and attentive. The food was FRESH and well seasoned. Not too salty as some can be. Seasoning taste fresh too. At first it seemed prices were a tad bit high...but...after tasting the freshness of the food I found the price is in line. My friend and the Burrito favorito! Very good and the shrimp were nicely seasoned. Cooked well too. Not too much and tough, not to little and a bit cold. Portions were good sized. I had something that was $15.99 and can't recall the name. Something like Molcala.....something. Any way it had sliced steak, shrimp, chicken, pablano peppers, onions....very nicely spiced and the shrimp were seasoned differently that the favorito. So many places the shrimp taste the same throughout all meals. We'll be back for sure...Oh...and I never got that heavy bloated feeling that one gets eating out! The only thing that is a bit of a downer is that the entrance is immediately in front of check out. Very easy to get all congested at...

I really wanted to give this place 5 stars but my experience was disappointing. I ordered over $60 worth of food and they got the order incorrect. I called in and when my order was read back to me it was correct, when I came in to pay and pick it up it was more expensive than I calculated. I just assumed prices had been raised and they didn't update the menu. Keep in mind the lady who took my order read it back correct! When I got home I realized quickly why I was charged so much more. My kids tacos where supremes and they were supposed to be regular. I order a grilled cheese birria and got charged for tacos instead. I called up to see what could be done and they told me to come up and they would get the grilled cheese. I assumed that considering the restaurant clearly messed up the order AND I had to drive back up they would just give me the grilled cheese but no, after spending over $60 in their establishment they wanted me to pay an additional $8 for the sandwich. I just left completely disappointed. The food was delicious but we won't be returning due to how this was handled. I have worked in the food industry for years and someone who spends over $60 is considered a high priority customer and if I messed something up I definitely would not be charging them to fix my mistake. I've been here twice now. I've gotten the chimichanga dinner and the 3 taco sampler both times. The food here is outstanding. It is so flavorful. Even the chicken in the chimichanga is seasoned to perfection. The portion sizes are great. The portions aren't massive but are just right.

The prices are fair. Honestly, I feel the quality of the food justifies the price. A dinner for 2 with sodas and meals is about $30.

The service is good. The waiter was attentive but not overwhelming. I get the feeling this is a family place. There is a very nice older lady that sat us. She saw a spot on the table and tried to clean it. When she couldn't wipe the spot away; she moved us to another table. That is attention to detail! When we left, the woman was at the register and was very polite and ensured we had a great meal.

I recommend this place to my family and friends. If I'm in Richmond, I will definitely go here before other places. It's a little small but it's...
