I heard a lot about this place and the business has been around for longer than I have. I expected a nice restaurant. What it is, is basically a sports bar / wing joint with a few extra menu items. No walls or or sounded deadening, similar to Texas Road House or BWW so don't expect to have a quiet conversation.
The service was fine although a bit slow (Saturday 2pm). We waited about 6 minutes at the Please Wait to be Seated sign and hadn't even been acknowledged. We were about to leave had a girl not come out of the restroom and apologized. Can't fault a person there! Then after seating the 2 of us at a 6 person massive table we waited about 10 more minutes to order, but the food came in about 10 minutes after so it evened out. The wait staff was fine and nothing good/bad to say there. Though they looked understaffed as a lot of businesses are atm.
Wife had chicken strips and was surprised at a weird pickle taste. FYI they don't tell you anywhere (that we found) that they "marinade" their chicken in pickle juice... Kids may have a fit and refuse to eat them due to the flavor. I would never order them as I hate pickles. Sweet potato fries came with a small bowl of marshmallow "sauce" which was interesting and just as you'd expect, but kinda weird for a meal instead of a dessert. SP fries were a little small and didn't come with much. We asked to substitute and were charged the same amount as ordering them alone but didn't get the regular fries so I guess
I had the Philly Cheese Steak which they add A-1 and use Mozzarella instead of more traditional PCS cheeses. It was fine and pretty big. I passed on the A-1 sauce and I see what they added it. The steak was dry and tasted basically like you would get from a "Steak-ums" from the grocery store. Very light peppers and I think I might have seen one small piece of onion. It came with house chips which were not done and half were soft in the middle and had no salt or other flavoring that I could tell, just half fried potato slices.
Had it not been for the large quantity of food you're served and the reasonable prices, at least on the items we chose, I would have given it a lower rating. But it's a 3 because it's just average and a few things were not to our liking in both the food and atmosphere. Probably won't go back...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSecond time coming here. First time was amazing but tonight was horrible. First we ordered deep fried banana peppers but got deep fried pickles. Didn't bring it to anyone's attention because my husband and I like deep fried pickles so no biggie. Finished the appetizer before we even got our order taken. Waitress came and collected our empty basket and asked us what we wanted. We ordered the taco salad. When it came out, it was bland and nasty. No seasoning and the chili meat was a sloppy joe consistency and very dry. We waited for the waitress to come back. She came back once but it was to give us a water and hurriedly walked away. Waited more and she never came back. Was there probably an hour and a half before she came back. She asked if we needed a box. I told her we didn't like the food. She rolled her eyes and shuffled the menus in her hand hard on our table we were at and huffed and got the manager I assume. He came over and said "What's wrong?" I told him we didn't like the food. He said, "Well everyone else does. It's just how we make it." I said, "I understand it's how you make it but we don't like it. It's too bland" He said, "Fine. What do you want me to do about it?" I said, "Take it off our bill. We have no problem paying for the pickles." He said, "No. Food isn't cheap. Best I can do is 50% off." (Mind you the taco salads were only 9 bucks each) I said, "Fine. Do the 50% off. We will not be back" He said "Do as you please. I do not care." Then he huffed and walked away. The waitress came back and said, "I'd ask you how your food was but..." I told her it's not her fault. She said, "Well I've never had anyone complain about the taco salad." I said, "I understand." I paid and gave her a tip still. She filled out the survey saying that the service was excellent and the food was good so she lied to boost the score. Will not be back for a very long time if ever. It's also super loud and I have high anxiety so I got overstimulated. My husband and I are home now occupying both...

The Red Front Royal Pizza looks amazing, but only is okay. Overall the pizza misses as a thin crust Chicago or bar pie/ tavern style. The toppings were a unique mix that underwhelmed compared to just whole fresh ingredients. And the cheese was not high end quality, so the flavor profile a quality 100 percent whole milk cheese was missin (of course using such cheese would change the price point upward too). The crust was the biggest miss. It just was not crispy. It was more on the doughy side. And a thin crust that lacks a good crisp, that's always a miss for me. My opinion aside, Eeyore says I'm being a bit harsh on the pie. Give it a try as your opinion may differ. Or maybe ask for it well done.
The Ricks Philly. This is what saved the day. Rocks Philly brought us from a 3 star food reviews to 4 star. This cheese steak sandwich was very flavorful. Not a traditional philly by a long shot. Just a great sandwich. The bread was soft, yet held up well and was flavorful. I prefer a sturdier and crispier bread, but no complaints here. This bread they use just works in bringing our the flavor. The steak and other ingredients came together perfectly with the bread giving this sandwich very high marks from me. It's a good sandwich! Eeyroe agrees too. Loved it.
Overall. Pizza, I'd pass or maybe try it well done if that helps give the crust a crisp workout brining the toppings. The cheese steak. I'd be a regular for that if I lived local. Plus, I would look forward to trying other items as well. As a bonus. The friendly service and staff would keep me...
