The sub was fresh and excellent, the service a bit on the slow side but very friendly. These are legit footlong subs, too: "workin' man" portions, if you will. In fact, when I dropped in just about 130 for lunch, all the customers in the place were men. It was pretty busy considering the time, and all of the empty tables in the place (about a third of the total) needed a wipe down, and in the time it took me to eat half the sub and half the GIANT order of REALLY GOOD fries, no one came out to clean the tables. They weren't filthy, but they could have used some work. I think it was just too busy for anyone to break away from the kitchen...
I wish they offered half subs, but they don't; but a good sub tastes just as good as leftovers, and this one certainly tasted fine the next day. And next time, unless I'm sharing with someone, I'll skip the fries and go for a bag of chips. The fries were great, but just way too many of them for one person (my opinion, of course), and I hate throwing away food.
I'll definitely be back, but I'll probably scan the tables first to see if they're clean enough to eat in, and if not, I'll...
Read moreMr Submarine used to be delicious. But they've been giving less and less meat, quality has just gone down overall. One slice of turkey folded over per section, as you can see in the pictures. I don't even like or want a ton of meat on my subs, but this is laughable. It tasted ok, but not delicious like it used to be. That's what prompted me to take a closer look at what was on the sub.
I used to love Mr Submarine, recommend it, and drive 20 minutes out of my way to go there. After watching the quality decrease as price increased, it's no longer worth it to me.
Edit to add: I quit getting tomatoes there long ago because I kept getting slices of the top of the tomato, where the stem had been attached.
Edit 2: my last TURKEY sub had 1 slice of HAM on the whole thing. Besides that, the qualities and tadte were rough, at best. I am now not a Mr. Submarine customer, after having been a regular customer got 5 years, and semi-regular customer for about 10 additional years. This sub was just that bad. Can't say I recommend wasting your time or money. Maybe other locations are better, I don't know because haven't tried them...
Read moreTheir cheese slicer must be set on "razor thin" because I asked for extra cheese and i sware it was the regular amount. The other thing was and I understand having a shortage of help and only the drive thru being open but accuracy is important. Besides feeling like I got ripped off and not getting the extra cheese I paid ($12 for a super sub, extra cheese oil&vinegar) for, I didn't get the oil/vinegar I requested either. You know what really sucks.....and we've all been there, not realizing your sandwich was not the way you requested until you got halfway down the road and back at work.
Edit: 3/27/24 - I understand Covid precautions but to still only operate with just the drive thru is unbelievable to me, besides that the quality I use to get from here has gone down. It seems like they have the slicer dialed to
