I have been going to this restaurant for quite some time now. However, I am taking the time to write a fair and honest review. The food is good but not consistent. The attitudes are far less desirable. They had an older woman working behind the counter (she's no longer there now), who had the worse attitude ever. They now have a woman with long dreads, she bags your food at the counter who replaced her with the bad attitude! She always acts like you are bothering her and she does not want to service patrons. Her attitude is horrible!! I blame myself for continuing to frequent a place with poor customer service. The lines are long, the food is not consistant, and they accept your telephone order, only to be told that they DO NOT accept telephone orders when you arrive at the restaurant! What a waste of time, especially if you are still on the clock at work. They act this way because they are located in the hood and therefore treat people accordingly...although this is NOT a good practice. They would never thrive and survive in Short Pump, Midlothian or Chesterfield, therefore, they need to stay in Southside Plaza where they can get away with this foolishness! Employees need to remember that the customers they are being rude to, are the VERY SAME people that put money in their pockets and food on their tables! Without customers, their business WOULD NOT EXIST! If you want decent priced food, with great customer service, please visit Caribbean Kitchen in Petersburg. You will not be disappointed! Carenas also has good food, a pleasant atmosphere and great customer service. I will no longer be going back to this place. I will spend my hard earned...

Don’t bother calling to place your order or to complain about your order! You can look through the reviews as well as the nonchalant responses that are being given from management in response to the complaints & clearly tell how bad the service sucks. Sad to say that on top of the poor service some days the food is a hit & some days it’s a miss! Im surprised business hasn’t slowed down here😩I’m not sure what going on in the kitchen but they need to get it together or close until they can provide a consistent cook that doesn’t change the recipes and better service! I use to eat here multiple times a week … until I got tired of wasting my money, my time & my gas driving across town 30 minutes to get food here. I would recommend that you don’t spend much…. Try a kids meal just to see if the cook is cooking right that day! Some days the curry is spicy. Some days it’s not & some days it taste totally different than normal. Brown stew chicken no gravy & extremely dry. Rice over cooked often as well. Only think that taste the same every time is the lemonade nbs There is no customer service really & no remorse if u spend your money & disappointed with your...

This was my first experience at Queen's. As the other reviews mention, don't bother calling about anything because they don't answer the phone. If they answered the phone, I would have known before I drove 20 minutes that they were out of plantain, and mac and cheese, and rum cake. But, hey, not the end of the world. The flavor of my rice and beans was very good, and the cabbage was on point. The flavor of the brown stew chicken was very good too. However, I have eaten Jamaican food all over the US and in Jamaica, and I have never ever gotten brown stew chicken that was just dry pieces of chicken on rice with NO GRAVY. I mean, there was not a drop of gravy on that chicken and rice! I was stunned! Good thing it was flavorful. The beef patties were mediocre. And the biggest fail was that after they didn't have rum cake, I settled on chocolate...then the girl forgot it!!! I live 20 minutes away, and had stopped at the store before I got home and discovered it was missing. I would have called to tell them and ask them to credit me, but- that's right, they don't...

This was my first experience with Queen's. I am trying to be okay with my experience. The customer service with the cashier (woman) needs work but I still tipped to support the business and for the two other employees that were helpful. Anyhow, I ordered the jerk chicken with an additional side of mac. Overall the food needs work. The chicken and rice is dry and a bit bland. (I'm literally tasting the food as I type to give the best description) As far as the macaroni the dynamics with the ingredients are off. It is tasteless and needed to bake longer. The middle wasn't throughly cooked. Unfortunately I will not be returning. I'm not sure if this is just old food or the head chef was out. I really wish I hadn't missed Jamaica House before they closed.

We got robbed. Ordered a large oxtail thinking it was going to be a lot of food. Barley any meat! $18 for a large and there was very little meat. I basically paid for rice and cabbage. I noticed everyone was ordering kids meals. I thought I was doing something by ordering a large and contributing to a small business. I spent $51 altogether. I was robbed. Only reason I gave two stars is because the oxtails are seasoned well, or else I would have given 1 star. I’m happy to support local business but if I’m a spend big money I want what I paid for. You have to wait a long time for the food, however If I had received a large portion of food I’m happy to wait for quality I would have given 5 stars.
