I really like Indian food and was excited when I heard this place had recently opened. Some friends and I came in after hearing good things and were impressed with everything we got, which only just scratched the surface of the extensive menu. I was especially pleased to see lamb vindaloo, probably my favorite Indian dish, but not one you can count on every restaurant serving (either because it's hard to acquire lamb or the dish is pretty spicy, who knows). The vegetable pakora was delicious, too, along with the classics like chicken tikka. But the real star of this place in my opinion is the naan--it's freshly made, well-seasoned, and most importantly, HUGE. I ordered two, accustomed as I am to smaller portions, and was shocked to find I'd overshot and ended up taking some home as leftovers, which hardly ever happens. The serving staff were also very attentive and sweet, letting me know they'd freshly brewed an iced tea I ordered, and seemed very pleased when I told them how much I was enjoying the meal. I'm not in Richmond often, but have many friends and family in the area, and haven't stopped telling them about this place since I ate there.

The paneer tikka (9/10) tasted really good. Curry pakora (7/10) also tasted good. My wife and I ordered a virgin mojito and a chai. The chai (9/10) tasted excellent! The virgin mojito (5/10) tasted ok. Portion sizes were decent. The owners are really friendly and were very welcoming! I would come back here to try their other dishes.

If you want truly authentic Indian food, this is the spot. We stopped here on our road trip and it was an incredible experience. The food was spectacular— perfectly spiced, generous portions, and so flavorful. Best garlic naan I’ve ever had. Friendly staff and a clean & large dining room. I would return in a heartbeat.

Let me start by saying that I eat Indian food weekly.

This place is fine, but that's it. Maybe it was an off night for service, but the food just didn’t have that much flavor.

The food is decent, but sauces are super watery and taste more like canned products from Cisco than house made. The naan is insanely thin, and prices are the same or higher than competitors with higher quality foods.

The service is pretty slow. We waited a while for a check when there were only two other tables.

You get very little rice with your entree and if you want extra rice; you'll be charged for it. Soda refills aren't included either.

If you want great Indian food, go to Gulzars. You'll have a much better experience and higher quality...

I had been very excited to try this place for a long time and i was not disappointed at all! Everything i ordered was delicious! The Chicken Tikka Masala was very creamy and came with lots of chicken! The onion naan is now my favorite type of naan! It was very soft and filled with onion which was delicious and paired perfectly with the masala. I also ordered the Paneer Saag and it was amazing!! Normally i would order the same thing from Gulzars which is also very good but Twist of India puts more ingredients in it and gives it more texture which i loved! I also ordered the food to go and the portion sizes were great! 10/10 i will be ordering from there again! Definitely...
