Del Taco — Restaurant in Ridgecrest

I usually don’t leave reviews unless something stands out—good or bad. In this case, I felt like people should know what to expect. I’ve been to this Del Taco a few times over the last year because options in Ridgecrest are limited, and each visit has been hit or miss. Mostly miss lately.

First off, the staff isn’t rude, but they’re not exactly friendly either. Most times, it feels like they’re just trying to get through their shift. I get it—it’s fast food, but even a simple greeting or acknowledgment would go a long way.

The food is another issue. Last time I went, I ordered a couple of tacos and a Del Combo burrito. The tacos were soggy and fell apart before I even got halfway through. The burrito tasted like it had been sitting around for a while—lukewarm and kind of bland, like they forgot half the ingredients. And for some reason, the fries are either super fresh or cold and soggy—never in between.

Drive-thru wait times are unpredictable. Sometimes it’s fast, but I’ve also sat in line for nearly 20 minutes just to get a small order. Inside, the dining area usually looks okay but could use more regular cleaning. Tables are sometimes sticky, and trash bins overflow if you catch them at the wrong time.

Overall, I wouldn’t say it’s the worst place ever, but I wouldn’t recommend going out of your way to eat here. If you’re craving Del Taco and have no other choice, it’ll do—but don’t...

I go here infrequently and I am surprised,because more often than not I enjoy the flavors that Del Taco has in their food.The flavors of Del Taco are different from the other chain mexican restaurant here in Ridgecrest,and I think that is a good thing...especially if you have not eaten here in a while.I really like shrimp so I always come here when they offer the seasonal shrimp delicacies.So now they are offering Jumbo Shrimp Quesadilla Tacos.I went there today and was even more surprised when I saw they are also offering Jumbo Shrimp Tortas ,as Tortas are one thing I always get.I ordered two Jumbo Shrimp Quesadilla Tacos ,and one Jumbo Shrimp Torta.I got the medium and Del Scorcho sauce and went on my way.I opened up both and took photos of them.I added some Best Foods mayonaise to the torta because the picture showed some sauce in it,and the bread was dry so I figured it needed some more flavor.I put a mix of mild and Del Scorcho sauce in both. I have to say that I think these employees know how to prepare the food correctly,because the shrimp were plump and good with a crunchiness as well on the outside on both the tacos and torta.I enjoyed both the shrimp tacos and shrimp torta,and I would order them again.If you enjoy shrimp then come to Ridgecrest Del Taco and get your shrimp on.Good Job Ridgecrest Del Taco!!! Just came home with my order, it was a pretty simple order for normal people to understand so I thought..... 2 bacon double del cheeseburgers no lettuce no tomato extra sauce..... Thats it, I didnt order a drink so that didnt have to be thought about, I didn't even order fries so looking for the right size container wasn't an issue. I dont get why I come home to find out the only 2 burgers I order have nothing but cheese, Patty one piece of bacon, top bun and bottom bun...... No sauce at all. So I grab the receipt and double check my order and the girl at the window did her job correctly. I guess the cook must have failed the part in English where they tought you how to read ....I'm a life long resident in the town and still can't grasp what is so hard about fast food. I mean everyone thats employed there filled out an application, so they must be able to read a couple words on an order. This restaurant has screwed up orders from people I know and myself so many times its getting ridiculous. I'm starting the wonder why KFC closed down and not this place. The owner needs to step up...
