I had the esteemed privilege of having Mike as my Hibachi Grill Master during my visit here on September 1st. I came here with low expectations after visiting “Casey’s BBQ” previously (google review is finished for hat place) Also Ridgecrest being Ridgecrest, I feel like It was fair to expect low expectations. Walking in was completely different than what I thought it would be, the place was somewhat busy and I can hear laughter and small talk amongst the group of young adults throughout the restaurant. The music was gentle and slow paced, which was great and relaxing. Other restaurants play a fast paced tempo music as a psychological strategy to get customers to finish their food quicker. Staff was friendly. Mike successfully answered all my questions to include food distributors, cooking methods, etc. I am impressed that the restaurant was able to overcome the logistical challenges as well as acquiring the talent for the Grill Masters here in Ridgecrest. I would like to thank Mike and the restaurant owner for providing this service here and for the impact they have made throughout the local community. I am impressed , I am full, I am happy...and I will definitely be coming back here, hungry for more.

Me and my wife have been going to Tokyo house for many years and were skeptical when hearing ownership had changed - but boy were we pleasantly surprised! The new owner Leo rocks! He's completely renovated the restaurant with new flooring, ceiling panels, complete style and decor update, and most impressively - a completely new HVAC system that keeps the restaurant cool even during our brutal summers! The menu is largely the same, excepting the sushi menu - which has been totally revamped! Food and sushi quality has also gone up as well - and you can tell the difference! I ordered the Sashimi plate - and was extremely impressed with the presentation, quantity, and quality, AND real genuine wasabi! Seriously, it was the most beautiful plate of sashimi I've ever seen in my life 😂 The new owner Leo cares deeply about this restaurant, his employees, and customers. He is at the restaurant working at the sushi bar and walking around interacting with customers and helping out constantly. Me and my wife 100% recommend the new and improved Tokyo House to anyone, it's cemented as our #1 favorite restaurant in Ridgecrest (aside from Mon Reve!)

Crazy to find amazing sushi way out here. Tokyo House is easily the best sushi spot in Ridgecrest. The quality and freshness are top notch here. I've been trying to find a sushi here in Ridgecrest that I really enjoyed and here it is. What's so impressive is that their sushi is on par with what you'd expect from a bigger city. On my last visit, a Tuesday lunch, the fish was incredibly fresh and flavorful. I highly recommend the Alaskan Roll and the Jessica Roll, and don't skip the classic salmon and tuna nigiri—they were simple, fresh, and perfect. They also remodeled and I really enjoy the new ambiance. Pro-Tip: Make sure to check out their amazing all-you-can-eat deal, available Tuesday through Sunday until 2 PM. It's an incredible value for such high-quality sushi. If you love great sushi, this is the only place you need to go.

I had a good experience here the food was affordable given the fact it was teppanyaki. Kindve bummed that there was no deluxe menu option(scallop, lobster, filet), and when we asked the chef for double vegetables instead of rice he gave us a single portion. This transgression may have been amplified by another dinner guest asking for no onions in anything, and her filet to be cooked rare. so everything of hers had to be cooked special, which slowed down the process for everyone else. At the beginning she also continued to bother the wait staff for oil and vinegar for her salad. They brought her vegetable oil, and vinegar. She sent them back for red wine vinegar. When here rare steak was done, she nagged the chef for the steak sauce they give you. The chef then said "there is onions in it" and she said "it's ok because it's all crushed up".After while it just became entertainment, but it did ruin that particular dinner experience for me and my wife. The moral of the story is, don't go to hibachi if youre not looking for Japanese flavors. If youre out there lady and reading...
