I am writing this review at 2:19 AM after being awaken with a queasy stomach. I have just finished my 2nd run to the bathroom. I have had food poisoning before, so I am aware of what it feels like. This was it. The way I ran to the bathroom both times is the same way YOU SHOULD RUN FROM HERE: FAST. I have eaten here twice. The first time was about a week or two ago. The second time was 2 days ago. The first time, I ordered the cajundillas. It was ok. I enjoyed the red beans and rice. Nothing left a lasting impression, but I decided i should come back & try something different. The menu looked promising. My husband and I decided to try it out again. That night, he mentioned going to Half Shell. i wanted to try Walk-Ons again, so that's where we went. I wish we had gone with his suggestion. The restaurant was again packed to the brim. We only waited 5-10 mins before the waiter guided us to a booth that had food on the seats and ALL KINDS OF STUFF under the table. It was sticky. There was food, napkins, & a birthday hat thrown under the table. One minute later, a woman who seemed to be a manager walked over to us and apologized, saying we shouldn't have been seated at that booth. She moved us to a clean one. We ordered an appetizer - the Devils on Horseback- and our entrees at the same time. I ordered the Pastalaya and my husband ordered the Voodoo Shrimp + Grits. The Devils on Horseback is shrimp, cream cheese, and jalapeños wrapped in bacon and then the whole thing is breaded and deep fried. THIS IS WHERE THE 1 STAR COMES IN! I'm sitting there eating the appetizer - commenting that it's different, when my husband says "It doesn't look like they cooked this bacon enough... or at all." I looked at the bacon and said, "oh, I'm sure its soggy from being wrapped up in the breading." because WHY WOULD I THINK THAT A RESTAURANT WOULD BE NEGLIGENT ENOUGH TO SERVE RAW BACON?!? I mean, there's absolutely NO WAY, right?! Well, my husband didn't eat the bacon, but I did. i knew this would be the perfect science experiment. Was the bacon cooked or not? SPOILER ALERT: IT OBVIOUSLY WAS NOT!!! My stomach is still currently queasy. And after doing some deductive reasoning, I have concluded that the reason is THAT DOGGONE RAW BACON! My husband is currently at work and feeling FINE. BUT WAIT! Don't go. That's not the end of the story. My husband's entree, the Voodoo Shrimp and Grits had that same bacon wrapped Shrimp on top. He proceeded to pull the bacon off just as he'd done the appetizer, thank God. He commented that the Grits were good. However, my Pastalaya had ABSOLUTELY NO TASTE AT ALL. I never send anything back, but I had to this time. My husband was almost finished eating, so i told the waitress to just take it back- i didnt want it replaced. The waitress came back with the supposed manager, who told me that the cajundillas and the pastalaya were both frequently sent back. Both she & the waitress recommended the Bayou Pasta, giving it extremely high praises. I obliged and asked them to put my food in a to-go box. Why I didn't taste that food before I left, I will never know! We did have a problem with our ticket- there was a $3 charge for some extra cream sauce. I suppose it was for my dish, because the pasta had cream sauce, but I never asked for extra. The waitress, who was new, couldnt find the manager, so she just brought us $3 cash. We ended up tipping our waitress $11, and I left pretty dissatisfied. NOTE: Please tip your servers SOMETHING, no matter what! At home, I became even more dissatisfied when I tasted that Bayou Pasta. Absolutely NO TASTE! My husband & my oldest child tasted it just to be sure I wasn't tripping! They agreed. I gave it to my 4 year old. I ate cereal that night. Needless to say, my husband and I have both agreed we won't be back. My stomach is still queasy, so I can't sleep. You do what you want, but next time, I will INSIST on HALF SHELL.

I gave neutral stars because I've never eaten here. A friend and I were planning on going one day; but that friend picked up a carry out meal before our planned date, and she had an awful experience. She picked up her order, didn't look until she'd gotten home. It didn't look good(she sent me a photo) and she said it didn't taste good. It was a pasta dish. She called and spoke to a manager, who was not nice nor helpful. She told her to bring it back for another one. After a long day at work, and the fact that she didn't live close by, she didn't feel like driving back over there. My friend said she didn't want another one and asked if she could be refunded for it, and the manager told her no, she would only make her another of the same. So, needless to say, we did not go there as planned, and I won't be going there at any other time.

I wanted to try some place new that I've never been before. So my wife was telling me about this new place that just recently opened in Ridgeland. We got there & it was packed. They told us 45mins to a hour wait. After about 5 minutes of waiting I got a text saying our table was ready. Real nice & definitely a full sports bar. Nice atmosphere too. I had red beans & rice, boom boom shrimp & the catfish po-boy with waffle fries. My wife had the Louisiana Combo with catfish, jumbo shrimp, hush puppies, sweet potato fries & crawfish etouffee. Everything was seasoned to perfection & everything was GOOD. The staff was courteous & prompt. We definitely will be back soon to try something different on the menu. Put this spot on your to-do list, you won't be disappointed.

I went to Walk On’s with a friend of mine last Saturday and ordered the Scholarship burger with a side of waffle fries. This is actually one of my favorite restaurants in the Jackson area that I love going to. They serve a wide variety of items including burgers, pasta, sandwiches, delicious appetizers, and tasty desserts. It has a game day type of atmosphere where you can go enjoy some food with family and friends, some drinks and enjoy the game as well! There are also other locations as well located in a good bit of SEC college towns such as Starkville, Oxford, Baton Rouge, Knoxville, and Tuscaloosa to name a few. I would recommend to all my friends and family, or anyone who hasn’t tried this place to come check this restaurant out.
