susan f. Springfield, PA 011 1/31/2022 Used to live in Ridley and would travel out of my way to get an inside out...went there recently and ordered two with extra sauce ($12.) What a disappointment. Went inside and it was dirty and in disarray. A voice came from behind the counter (that was barricaded off by racks of chips and other stuff-not even meant as a barrier bc of covid-that made me feel unwelcome) and said We'll be right with you. A girl pops out and goes behind the make shift desk and ghetto set up where food sits under a light. Regardless, I got my inside outs and couldn't wait to dig in. Or so I thought. The dough definitely was NOT fresh-it was cracked because of the staleness. There was almost no filling inside-let alone the extra sauce I paid for. The cheese tasted CHEAP (Yes, we know the difference)...REALLY??!! It's cheese, sauce and dough-the overhead on that really isn't expensive, and I'll pay for quality-so why charge that much for cheap products? You'll get your money for overpriced cheap, poor quality- but people won't come back! Sadly, I won't go back. Used to go back to Ridley for the Last Stand and Double Decker; now I...
Read moreDouble Decker Pizza is probably the best pizza around this area in my opinion. It's not to thin or thick, has perfect crispy-golden crust and it has sort of an Old English style to it, similar to a place that's no longer around in Norwood called Manor House, my father used to deliver for from 1973 to 1992. I don't say its the best just because it brings back childhood memories, it really is that good and I'm simply giving a reference point to those locals who might remember Manor House Pizza. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because of their COVID19 precautions in which you wait outside while an employee brings you your order when you choose to pick it up. My feelings about Covid19 are irrelevant. There are so many other restaurants in full operation which only require a typical mask unless you're seated, then you can remove it to eat. These unusual pickup stipulations are major inconvenience, and it takes way longer to pickup your food, and in my opinion isnt necessary at all. Still, I have to admit, that's no reason to miss out on some of the best pizza...
Read moreWe have ordered from Double Decker as a family since time is a child and I’m 33 now. And I’ve ordered it for my family now for years. I will never lie and say that they have bad food because they don’t I love their food especially the inside out. However the past three times I’ve called once nine once at 9:15 and now I just called at 9:23 PM they told me they’re closed and they won’t take my order.not even pick up. However their hours read close at 10 PM on Google and at their own business and on their menu. This is my biggest gripe with them. The second one would be how rude the girls on the phone can be. I’m not going to attempt to order from here anymore I can’t believe I’m saying that but it’s just not worth going around the whole house getting everybody’s order for a four person family to be told they’re closed an hour early and won’t take my order. They just lost my $80 every week that I used to spend. Do better guys, change your hours so the public can see if you don’t want to work until 10...
