I visited the BrickHaus this morning with my wife and daughter. Thankfully, we were fortunate to be seated with Maryanne. This is not meant to take anything away from any of the other excellent wait staff. Maryanne is simply an incomparable juggernaut of service and good cheer. This morning I was about to order an omelette when one of the owners, Dennise(a lovely lady with a Phillies shirt and fashionable glasses) visited the table and suggested the braised short rib grilled cheese. She further suggested I have an egg added to the sandwich. As you might imagine, I began to feel a familiar sense of adventure. This feeling only comes along when I know I am about to embark on a culinary journey. In response to her suggestions, I simply said, “please bring me whatever you think I should have”. Several minutes later, as I was finishing a particularly good cup of black coffee, our food arrived. My wife got a breakfast burrito and my daughter got chocolate chip pancakes. I assume both meals were as good as they looked. Sadly, I cannot confirm anything beyond seeing that their food had been eaten. You see, when my sandwich arrived the journey began. Ridley Park could have been hit with an air strike. I wouldn’t have known. I was in another place. I was in short rib grilled cheese-land. Nothing exists there but flavors and delight. I ate the sandwich with a knife and fork, displaying reckless disregard for the disdain of my fellow diners. At one point I think my wife made a laughing comment to my daughter about me eating like a wild animal. I’m not sure. In short-rib grilled cheese land there is no spoken language, just ambient sounds, strangely reminiscent of communication. It was quite an experience. When I came down from my sandwich euphoria, Dennise returned and told me the sandwich was made by her co-owner and husband, John. I have to admit, I briefly expected her to say that the sandwich was made by Jesus Christ himself, delivered by aliens, or perhaps just sort of appeared after slipping through a quantum rift. To learn that it was made by a human is astonishing. Go to the BrickHaus. Do it now. Do it often. Don’t order something off the menu. Just ask them to bring you whatever the universe wants you to have. Be awesome.

Ridley Park’s gem! This is my absolute favorite place to eat! I’ve gone with a bigger group, with my husband and kids for numerous meals, and I often go solo to grab a meal while I do my work on my laptop or just to meet a friend! No matter the situation, I’m always greeted by the friendly staff, especially Maryanne! Everyone there takes great care and makes sure that my experience there is like going home-just super welcoming! The owners are amazing people as well, as you can find them in the kitchen most days of the week! Weekends are busiest, as all the local's regularly come with their families, and they often offer live music! They have both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as two high top tables in each front window if you’re just stopping in! They also offer private parties, and the dinning space is unique and super spacious, so it makes for a beautiful, yet fun venue! And of course the best part… THE FOOD!!! The food is ALWAYS so delicious! They offer a menu that has both the classic breakfast and lunch items, and more fun and adventurous items with BIG flavors(unless you want it more simple-everything can be ordered to your liking!)! I’ve never had a meal I didn’t thoroughly enjoy! I highly recommend The Brickhaus to anyone looking for a fresh meal, big portions, or even just stopping in for a fun drink made by one of the super sweet and talented baristas!

I love this place…I really do! We eat in so much that we’ve tried everything on the menu. And the food is always delicious and plenty. Takeout however is subpar. 3rd time I’ve ordered something and it looks so unappetizing that I can’t even eat it. Some vent holes in the top probably would help stop the food from melting and leaking all over the other food and my car. I can’t stomach what is the consistency of oil and curdled cheese together. And no the food didn’t sit long at all. I waited there while it was cooked and it’s less than a 3 minute drive home. We also ordered the granola yogurt and I know from previous experience that I received double the portion when dining in versus getting it to go. Very disappointing when I thought I would be able to split it between my 2 toddlers. When the server handed me the bag of food she said there are napkins and utensils in the bag. we ordered 3 meals and the granola yogurt………3 napkins 1 fork 1 knife…… is what was in the bag. I think I need to stop ordering takeout!!

I’ve been a patron at the brink Haus for a while, I live for their coffee! My go to is currently an iced oatmilk lavender latte. But today was worthy of taking a few minutes to write a review about our experience. After 30 people in my family finished the Koman breast cancer walk we all met up at the brick Haus to celebrate my aunt fighting and winning her breast cancer battle. We did call a few days in advance to reserve tables knowing how large our party was. We thought it wouldn’t be likely since this was happening mid Sunday brunch but the owners did not hesitate to accommodate us! We all arrived at scattered times since we were coming from Philly in about 15 different groups/cars. When we pulled up there was a long line at the take out coffee bar, and a few people waiting to be seated inside and out. I felt stress that we were either gonna be here alllll day or with as many people we had (all not there yet) that it may be a problem being seated. Nope, not at all. They had 3 very large farm house tables waiting for us. The tables were set and beautiful. From the second we sat our server welcomed us, introduced herself to everyone (Maryann) and she and her crew started taking our drink orders. She took the orders as people arrived. Our party was moving around, chatting with each other before they commited to their seated and the staff didn’t bat an eye. I would have been annoyed with us but they were not at all. She told us to signal her as soon as we were ready to order while we looked over the menus and the specials that were waiting for us as well. She told her she was gonna put the food in as we ordered so it would come out quicker. I ordered the crab omelette that was one of the specials and it was delicious. We brought our own champagne and my aunt made chocolate covered pretzels and they set us up with glass ware for that. We also had a few stragglers arrive that weren’t initially supposed to come, and they accommodated them quickly as well by popping over another table and a few chairs. Everyone got their food quickly, perfect and hot. Not one in our huge party had a mix up or jam up or complaint with anything we ordered. It was literally perfect from the second we walked in until we left . We also lingered a bit and didn’t feel rushed. I saw that otherwise the turn around was quick so the people waiting were not waiting long. Def worth the wait if you go at a busy time. The icing on the cake was the bill for probably 33 people was about 21 dollars a person. Amazing food service, and atmosphere and I felt the need to share! Please give this place a try if you...
