This place is cute, it has a lot of potential to be really great but for now it’s just decent. Went to celebrate a birthday, as it is close by & saves the hassle of driving in the city. Made a reservation on Resy, specifically for the greenhouse, wanted the nice ambiance, got there and they sat us inside (wanted to give us a high top but I stated I wanted a regular table). I pointed out the reservation was for the greenhouse, she mentioned we could wait 10-15 min if we wanted.
Food: The salmon was perfect and by far my favorite dish on the menu. Perfectly cooked, tender but also crispy skin. The cucumber celery citrus salad is fantastic also!
Rigatoni was also nice. Flavorful, burrata is a nice touch.
Butchers pizza was ok at best. Very salty, like very very salty and I enjoy lots of salt and seasonings. Also way too thick and way too crispy, almost hard. It was tough to bite into it. Maybe it was a one off thing but overall we were not fans of it.
Burger was also just ok. My partner asked for medium, came out med rare. Fine, we like a little redness but in burgers we prefer medium. Also the truffle fries, it’s “truffle” oil, you cannot taste the truffle at all, there’s no truffle shavings or anything of the sort. I wouldn’t order the burger and truffle fries again honestly.
Dessert: blueberry lemon cake was very tasty. We loved it! Presentation could be a bit nicer but flavor wise it is delicious!
Drinks: margaritas had no rim, flavor wise they tasted nice. Could use a nice touch of a spicy rim especially for the spicy peach margarita.
Server: she was very sweet, did provide a lot of info. I wish she would have checked on us a little more, a couple times we were looking around for someone’s attention and ended up asking someone else. But overall we were happy with her. It was a weekend night so she was probably very busy.
One thing that could be improved is flow of service. Our server did give us a heads up that things may come out separately, we were ok with that but we didn’t realize how long in between each dish it would take. For ex: we ordered the pizza as an appetizer, she mentioned it may come out with the food and we said that’s fine. But it turns out all the dishes just kept coming one at a time. First the burger, then the salmon, then the pasta and pizza. By that time the person eating the burger was almost done. The pizza came out last instead of an appetizer. We assumed she meant that the pizza would come with everything else, all at once not randomly scattered throughout.
Overall, I’d give it a 7/10. The place is nice, it has potential for improvement however. But it is definitely nice to have a cute spot in Delco as the area lacks in nice restaurants. I would definitely return and hope they keep tweaking things and continue to...
Read moreWe love this place, and have had many breakfasts here. (Though we did get confirmation that there will be no more brunch service going forward.) This was our first time checking it out for dinner service, and our meal was excellent!
We had the soup of the day, mushroom farro, which featured oyster mushrooms in a black peppery vegetable broth with onion, celery, and carrot. That was right up our alley and we cleaned the plate. Next out was the pickled beets with whipped ricotta, which was a very generous portion and could have been split by a larger table. The flavor of the beets was incredible, tart and refreshing, but we stopped ourselves short of finishing them so we had room for our entrees.
For entrees we decided to split the rigatoni in red sauce with pork and burrata, and the sauce was incredibly flavorful. It struck a great balance between richness of the fat from the pork and the acidity of the tomatoes. The mezze rigatoni were a great shape to absorb all the sauce there, and the burrata stood out as welcome flavor in each bite I chose to include it in, cool and creamy against the bright sauce. We also split the mushroom pizza, with a creamy white sauce over top a fresh baked sheet of focaccia bread and covered with mozzarella and slices mushrooms. This was incredible, and maybe the best mushroom pizza I’ve ever had.
We definitely over-ordered for two people, but since we don’t always get a night out like this we wanted to try all the dishes that good to us. Impressed with everything, and have more than half a pizza leftover to eat today, as well as some beets!
For drinks, we each had a glass of Montepulciano, which was jammy and acidic, which a tannic finish, and paired great with the pasta.
We’ll be back, and are so happy Rosemary is still here just a few minutes...
Read moreMy aunt and I had dinner at Rosemary on 19 June 2024. Neither of us had eaten there before and we thought we would try it to celebrate our birthdays. Overall, we had an enjoyable meal, however, the price point was quite high. Because of the higher prices, I did expect an elevated level of service.
Note, there are two entrances, one to the left, which is where the reception desk is and one to the right, which leads directly into the dining room. We entered from the right and it was a bit awkward, as one of the waiters had to walk us through the dining room and down the stairs to the desk for a table assignment and then back up the stairs to our table. We were seated at a corner table on a sofa, which was fairly comfortable, but a bit cramped due to the small table size.
For dinner, we shared the shrimp ceviche and pork belly as starters and each had a portion of the scallops for our main. The flavors were well balanced and the presentation was artful. We each agreed that we'd order the starters again, however, the scallops were a bit underwhelming, especially for the price point ($32.00 per serving). We also each had one of the Tonic and Gins, which were refreshing.
Our server was polite and friendly, however, a bit inexperienced in the art of waiting a table. I realize this is a bit of a nit-picky criticism, but as I mentioned, for the price point of this restaurant, I would expect excellent and highly professional service.
Overall, I'd recommend trying Rosemary, however, if doing so, be prepared to pay a higher price than other restaurants in the area, so adjust your expectations accordingly. Also, note, they do charge an extra 2% (if I remember correctly) if paying by credit card, so bring cash or a debit card if you want to avoid paying...
