Not a bad place for what it is, but regardless of what the one reviewer said, Texas barbecue it is not. The biggest sin outlined below is that everything comes presauced. The brisket needs some work, more time in the smoker, it’s sliced thin and it’s pretty tough, if you cut it a bit thicker like at a good Texas place it probably wouldn’t be a good experience. For those not initiated, Texas brisket fat melts like butter and is more tender than prime rib, usually cut between 1/4-1/2” thick, usually decent smoke ring and a crust of spices on the outside. The brisket here has the consistency of maybe London broil? Or sandwich meat. Pork is presauced, not bad but it’s hard to say what it’d be like without all the sauce, kind of like if you put braised pork-shoulder in a food processor with barbecue sauce. Kielbasa was great, Sides were great, mac n cheese and beans were both good, corn bread was spot on. I’m giving 3 stars because it seems to be the style for the area, so philly seems to like this, but coming from Texas within the last year, the barbecue isn’t in a style that I...
Read moreToday was my first time visiting this restaurant and because of the reviews I was expecting much better. I ordered the beef brisket, smoked chicken, potato salad and mac and cheese. The brisket was more like roast beef with bbq sauce on it. The smoked chicken had good flavor but needed more bbq sauce. The potato salad had pieces of pork bacon in it but this is not advertised in the menu. After getting to my car and noticing the bacon I went back in the store to try and exchange it for another side and was told they couldn't take it back because I had left the store. The mac and was bland and needed more flavor. I was very disappointed with this food and will never visit this establishment again. After spending $50+ in here I ended up eating chicken tender and...
Read moreBig Daddyz is my personal favor BBQ joint. I have been to most of the BBQ places not in Delco, but throughout Philly, Montgomery County and surrounding areas. Big Daddyz is second to none of them. The brisket is perfect every time. The pulled pork is my familys favorite. The ribs are so good my mouth is watering just thinking about them. Burgers are so good they could open up a seperate burger joint. But my personal absolute favorite food they have are the Rib Wings. If you dont know what they are, they are the smoked ribs, then deep fried and tossed in your choice of wing sauce. I normally just do the Buffalo because its fantastic but I also choose the Maple Bacon or the Black Cherry Habanero. You cant go wrong with any of them....
