Fred's Ridley Water Ice — Restaurant in Ridley Township

Upon arrival the worker was sitting on his phone, we stood there for a good 2 minutes untill he looked up and saw us waiting. He wrote our order down but then didn't give us what we asked for. I wanted two scoops of ice cream in a dish and my significant other wanted two scoops in a cone, the worker completely ignored the request for the two different flavors and my s/o was then handed a cone with just one flavor. I was told it was going to be $7 which didn't seem right but after paying I then saw I was truly charged $8.47. The ice cream was freezer burnt and flavorless. I highly recommend you avoid this ice cream shop at all costs.

Side note: The shop closes at 10pm and the employee decided to close 5 minutes early, so when another customer walked up she was turned away.

OMG I always have just driven past this place b/c I can't recall ever seeing it with a customer. Then I saw the 'under new management sign' and something in my spirit said go try them and check it out. So I did and I've been hooked ever since!!!! And even better when I discovered that it's now a Black Owned Business 👍🏾🙌🏾👌🏾which is extremely rare in Ridley/Folsom!!! So now I bounce back and forth between my other fav CJs water ice down Macdade Blvd as well. 2 of the best hidden gems to have the best (after Fred's in SW Philly are located right in the heart of Delco and are Black Owned!! Please support our businesses. The water ice is Aaaamaaazing and the customer service is 2nd to none....

I have been a patron for many years, and the quality of the soft serve ice cream and customer service were always fantastic. I've gone a few times since they opened for the Spring, most recently a few days ago, and again I was very disappointed at the quality of the soft serve ice cream. The weather was cool that day.
