Thai Chili Bistro — Restaurant in Rifle

Went in for the night of valentines . One couple was in front of us, and they were asked how many in their party. Which was two just like us they weren't told anything just to hold on a second while she checked. We were asked and were told it's an hour before we could be seated my wife and I were told that we would have to wait an hour before that had any seating. So conveniently we sat at the bar as offered. A family of four came in behind us and as they asked for seating the lady checked and sat both the couple of two and the family of four. Completely skipped and disregarded us. As we we're waiting at the bar one lady told the waitress in mandarin to take our order individually she waited 10 minutes before she did. As this is happening my wife left and went to the the car upset. Waitress came to took my drink order I ordered a lemonade, told me I couldn't order sushi. It would be an hour if I did. As I'm deciding for something else, the waitress walked off on me as if I wasn't even there without saying ill give you some time or anything. We were treated very rudely . It socks because we heard very good things about this place. I we were excited about the steak and were considering the filet mignon and sushi lobster rolls. Etc. So we left left with a ruined night to a hotel in town . We also live here in town so hopefully we can get better service on a not so packed weekend or night. If we decide to ever go back again. The food here used to be the best in the valley. This was my favorite restaurant for years. I don't know why, perhaps they were caught in the Covid crossfire, but I've been so disappointed the last couple of times I've done business there. Today, Mothers day, was the last straw. My daughter called yesterday to make sure we would be able to place a large take out order today as we opted to not fight the crowds and they said it wouldn't be a problem. So, today, after calling and not getting an answer for 45 minutes, she went down there, figuring they must be slammed, and the place was practically empty. They said it must have been her phone being the problem. She placed the order and they said it would be 20 minutes. 45 minutes later she was handed our order, no apology, no nothing, just a bad attitude! When she got back to the house, there was no sweet/sour sauce for the sweet n sour chicken no chopsticks, 2 pkts of soy sauce for 4 sushi rolls, and no fortune cookies. I'm done. I will not be eating there anymore. I will not tolerate anyone being treated badly for, what has become, sub par food! My sesame beef was mostly breading! The sushi rolls were loose, and everything was "meh". ...

I hope the owners and management reviews this so it can be corrected. We've lived in the Rifle area for 9 years. We've dined at Thai Chili Bistro about 25 times over the years. I do believe today will be my final visit there. I've always reluctantly gone there when others wanted to since the first couple of times. It's never been a good place to go.

Service is always just OK. The wait staff could be a little more kind and smile, if they wanted better tips. A little under trained. A little slow at times. Maybe understaffed.

The food, except for the egg rolls, is ALWAYS lukewarm to room temp when tabled. Why? The sushi rolls never taste fresh.

Today we ate lunch there and the chicken tasted like it was leftover and heated up. The sliced bell peppers were actually cold, and the onion was undercooked. I should have sent it back. 2 of the 3 in our party, 3 hours later, got sick from the food.
