I’ve been a loyal Buffalo Wings & Rings customer for over 10 years, and I’ve always loved their food. In all that time, I can only remember asking for my wings to be redone once. Unfortunately, my recent experience was very disappointing here at the Rio Grande City location.
I ordered my usual — Buffalo BBQ Medium — but when I got home and tried them, they were extremely spicy, nothing like how they normally taste. The wings were so spicy I couldn’t eat them and ended up throwing them away at the end.
I called the location and spoke with a female manager, who insisted that I return the food in order to receive a refund. I explained that I wasn’t willing to drive 30 minutes back to the restaurant and another 30 minutes home just to correct their mistake. I asked if they could send someone to pick up the incorrect order and bring the correct one instead, but she refused. I told her that this situation wasn’t my fault and that the error was on their part, but she still said no. She then offered me a discount on my next order, which I declined — I had already paid over $50 for this meal, as I always do, and I expected to receive what I ordered, so that I can eat.
The restaurant is 30 minutes away, which means going back would have been a two-hour round trip counting both visits. Considering I didn’t even get to eat my meal, the experience was extremely frustrating.
I am extremely disappointed how this matter was handled. Lost money, time and food.
I’ve recommended Buffalo Wings & Rings to many of my friends and family over the years because I’ve always had great experiences. I truly hope this feedback helps improve consistency and customer care.

We ordered Ranchero Tots, boneless wings with four different sauces, and a side of parmesan garlic aioli fries. The hostess asked if we wanted the tots first, and we agreed. However, twenty minutes later, our server brought us traditional wings instead of the boneless wings we ordered, along with the fries, and the tots were still nowhere to be seen. Mistakes happen, so we asked for the boneless wings we originally ordered, and the server assured us they would be on their way.
Ten minutes later, the tots finally arrived, but they were disappointing. The tots came with three slices of jalapeños and a scant amount of ranchero sauce, barely enough for one piece, and they were not spicy at all. The only good quality of the tots was their size and homemade texture. The parmesan garlic aioli fries were just okay. There were literal pieces of parmesan on top of the fries.
When we received the boneless, to our surprise, they were just dry chicken pieces with some spice powder, which was not made clear on the menu, and neither the server nor the hostess informed us. The two supposedly spicy sauces—Cajun and Nashville Hot—tasted just like regular fried chicken, lacking any flavor. We also asked for additional ranch sauce but never received it.

When I arrived home, I discovered that half of the order — five wings — was missing. This meant that to get what I originally paid for, I would have had to drive back to the restaurant, leaving the rest of the food to get cold.
What made the situation worse was the response from the manager on duty. Rather than showing empathy or offering a reasonable solution for the mistake, their attitude came across as dismissive and unhelpful. I wasn’t looking for anything excessive — just for the situation to be made right. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen.
