China Buffet — Restaurant in Ripley

Flavorless and bland. Really had high hopes since recently moving and the China Buffet is only about 7 miles away. Chinese is our usually go to takeout when we do family movie nights every weekend.

I've had some amazing chicken on a stick in the past, I'm unclear why this place adds red coloring/dye to a completely unseasoned tasteless dried out chunk of chicken and tries to pass it off.

My chicken mien only had a single piece of chicken. I may as well have ordered the veggie for a lower price, but there were very few veggies as well.

General Tso was okay a little overly sweet not much flavor otherwise. But at least it was not dried out like others.

Pepper steak with onions another bland dish overloaded with 90% onions very little meat or green pepper to balance it out.

Egg rolls have some form of odd meat that's a cross between bacon bits and ground pork.

Customer service is not the best. I called in told them I was new to the area and didn't have a menu proceeded to try and ask about different options if they carry them that I would like to order. Got the vibe I was being a pain/burden to the person on the phone.. One would think they would have put one in with my takeout order in hopes for repeat business- they did not.

For one thing, they are EXTREMELY overpriced. They don't even list their prices on their menu online!

Secondly, they DO NOT carry everything that is listed on their menu, it was not a matter of them being out of it. They told us they DO NOT carry that item.

Both the chicken and shrimp fried rice dishes are bland, have no flavor, and have hardly any chicken or shrimp in them.

The biggest disappointment was the Shrimp with Chinese Vegetables. While the shrimp were a nice size and fresh, there were absolutely no vegetables. Just shrimp and onions/bok choy, to be honest, I can't tell what it was, but it certainty wasn't snow peas, baby corn, or anything that you would expect in such a dish.

If you want good egg drop soup and egg rolls (but only pork! they don't carry any other kind!), this is the place for you. But if you want reasonable prices and to actually get what you pay for, maybe go...

This place easily compares to any old Chinese buffet that you think you want then prayed you hadn’t eaten afterwards. My last visit was quite some time ago and I swore then I’d never return. I arrived at 8 pm and they closed at 9. My son and I walked up to the buffet which doesn’t offer a lot to begin with but they had 14 items missing already.
