Cozumel Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Ripley

UPDATE: 07-24-2022 I go to Cozumel Mexican Restaurant as much as possible. I just love their food. Especially anything with Rice and Beans. I love love love their Grilled Fish and Grilled Shrimp Tacos.

The service is always good, staff friendly and restaurant clean. I love the atmosphere here. Never had a bad meal or bad service here.

OLDER REVIEW: They moved to their new larger location closer to interstate and hospital. Great location!!! Great new bright decorations on the interior inside and out!!! Very Eye appealing!!! A+++ on decorations that pump atmosphere. They needed some Mariachi music playing to umpfffff the effects and transport you to a lush tropical Cozamel Mexico location!!!

I ordered the 2 taco lunch special soft taco with chicken fajita filling along with beans and rice. Loved the food!! Loved the salsa!!

Tony went with Steak sandwich and fries. It was more like a phillie sandwich with onions peppers. Needed some oooey gooey cheese and mushrooms to take it to the next level!! But, he was happy!!! Fries Great hot Nd crispy!!!

He went with bottled Budweiser and I had a Coca-Cola!!! Tip, taxes everything $30 & that was giving our great waitress a 25% tip!!! Great food, Great prices, Great service & Great location!!! I see this place skyrocketing...

I've lived all over the west coast and so good Mexican food has been a staple. I frankly wasn't expecting much being so far from the border, so they exceeded my expectations. My wife had the Pollo ala crema and I had a combination plate with a beef burrito, cheese enchilada and a chile relleno. They serve margaritas by the bucket, so we split one (so good). The Pollo was as good as any we've had. The beef was flavorful without heavy cumin. The enchilada delightful. They rice was good though my wife spotted a lima bean in her's which is unusual in our experience. The relleno was different, but not in a bad way. It had a fresh roasted poblano, stem and all (definitely not from a can) but instead of being filled with Monterey Jack or Oaxacan cheese they managed to fill it with a cheese sauce. So when you cut into it cheese sauce started oozing all over. Totally unexpected, but the experience was sooo good Overall, I can see why it is a favorite. Best place in town. We eat out a lot more than we probably should but the local grocery stores are often out of things other than freezer foods. We order from Cozumel 2-3 times a month (they aren’t located in the strip mall anymore but I keep forgetting to take a picture of the new location).

I order online and my food is always hot fresh and ready to go when we get there. The hostess’s are awesome every time and go over everything to make sure I’ve got everything I order (other places don’t go that extra mile and I’ve made it home missing food many times).

The hot salsa is 🔥 it will light you up. I’m not a pansy either I love spicy foods - if you can’t handle ghost pepper level heat don’t order it!

Portions are huge, we have good for days when I order. Very friendly staff been ordering several times a month for over a year and no complaints- the staff is awesome the food is great. Highly recommend if you want authentic Mexican food. Oh don’t forget to order dessert 🧁 they are all to...
