Las Casuelas — Restaurant in Ripon

The food (and margaritas) are the reason we return, but after the other night, it will probably be a while until we come back, and this place is our go-to Mexican restaurant. Our waitress was awful. She was inattentive, way too hurried, like we were an inconvenience to her, and didn't take responsibility for her not doing her job. She blamed the bar tender for losing a drink ticket, but after said drink was ordered, we tried to get her attention numerous times, and we were blatantly ignored until it was time for her to bring the check that is. Absolutely disgusted by her whole attitude. I feel like they are always understaffed by like one person, I'm not sure if they need one more waiter/waitress or if they need to redo how many tables each person has, I don't know, but what I do know is, it will be a while until we return, which sucks because I really, really love their food. This has been a favorite spot for years. While I personally no longer live in Ripon, I still find my way back to eat here with my family. The staff are lovely and the food is tasty. I don't think I've ever been disappointed; I probably couldn't even count the number of times I've been here - it's too many to keep track of. The thing I probably most look forward to is the goodies brought to the table when you sit down: chips, refried beans, and salsa -- A+. The grilled chicken in or on anything is good - quesadilla, burrito, tacos revolcados, nachos, you name it. Super tasty. When I crave Mexican food, nothing does the trick...

Small, hole in the wall place bit a well known restaurant. I ordered the tres banditos and my guest had chicken a la plancha. Both were cooked to perfection. Very flavorful, served hot and perfect timing. Also ordered the guacamole appetizer. A bit pricey but well worth it. The staff were friendly. They were busy that night, so it took a bit to take our orders.Once they were taken though, we didn't have to wait long for it to get to our table. Will definitely go back.
