Met up with a cousin for breakfast. It was nice and quite so we felt we'd have no problem get hot fresh food. The friendly counter attendant took our order from their menu and confirmed the toppings that came on our order. (5 stars for friendly service), our meal finally arrived well over 20 to 25 minutes later. There were only 3 other people having breakfast and no one else. We ordered the most simplest Mexican dish ever made Chilaqiles plate with rice and beans. Most but not all Mexican restaurant opt to use canned refried beans which was evident in the taste. Rice was average like everyone else's. However the biggest let down was the main course of Chilaqiles which had minimal amount of cheese... Which many other places offer authentic Queso Fresco which is crumbled over the meal. It taste way better and the tortilla chips were completely bland and soggy. 90% of Mexican restaurants prepare this dish in a way that the chips have a crispness to the chips the sause is not over drenched. The additional topping of chopped onion is added to give flavor to the meal. (Optional by the way if you like onion.) I personally have made Chilaqiles at home countless times for family and friends. Even going so far as to use pre-fried chips from the Mexican supermarkets to expidite not having to fry a large amount chips on the fly. But to have to wait over 20 min for microwaved food is unacceptable. I didnt read the reviews before inviting my guest and even he spoke up and mentioned he wasn't impressed with the taste, and quality of the meal for the price and especially for the wait. I can't give an opinion on the rest of their menu to be honest. However if in the simplest of meals ever to come out of a Mexican kitchen which quite literally cost next to nothing to make, you don't hit it out of the ballpark... That speaks volumes of what I can expect from the rest of the...
Read moreOver priced! Poor quality food, chips were stale and the Super Carne Asada burrito was runny. It was like eating soup wrapped in a tortilla. It was like the meat (definitely not carne asada) was cooked in the beans. The lack of flavor and quality that this business is offering does not reflect the cost of their product. The burrito had small proportions with the tortilla wrapped towards the middle as a filler with the illusion of being super, most of this burrito was bean, rice, cheese 🤔. My cost 16.53, I always try supporting small businesses but as long as the quality of food reflects the cost. In this case it does not, I would suggest another place of choice if your...
Read moreI used to eat here all the time as a kid and loved it. However when I was passing through the area and stopped in to order to go I noticed there was no adherence to current state covid related rules or procedures which made me feel very uncomfortable ordering. I ordered the wet burrito (which was delicious) and my partner ordered the crispy tacos and a super burrito both of which he said were very dry. An hour or so later me and my partner were both vomiting and nauseous for the rest of the evening. Perhaps the lack of following health guidelines in the dining room correlates to the kitchen as well... Despite fond childhood memories I don't think I can stomach to...
