Ripon Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Ripon

Went to Ripon Family Restaurant for lunch today. Small town restaurant so went in with moderate expectations. They didn't even come close to hitting that low bar. I ordered chicken and rib dinner and wife a hamburger and fries. Both of us had the broccoli and "cheese" soup. First the soup, it was mostly a chicken broth (not stock) base with pureed broccoli somewhere in it. As far as cheese.....? I must have missed the one slice of processed cheese they used in this batch. The fried chicken was extremely over cooked and VERY dry, I've had better ribs on a Kwik trip rib sandwich, the mash potatoes were at least real but full of lumps and served with a package gravey, finally the diced carrots were your typical high school cafeteria canned mushy carrots. My wife's burger was half cooked well done and half rare (not sure how they pulled that one off) but her well overcooked fries made up for it. Finally after we complained (only able to eat a couple of bites or our meals), ther graciously took off for the chicken, ribs, and burger, but charged us ale cart for the potatoes, carrots, fries and soup. DEFINITELY WILL NOT BE...

Had a hugeee crowd of people come in and even though we called ahead it was hectic. Those girls did in amazing job at getting everyone's orders in and ready for them in a timely fashion even under all the pressure we put them under. I so wish I had gotten the name of the girl that helped me. She took my order of a chocolate milkshake and a veggie dog. I hope she reads this, remembers, and knows im talking about her. She was amazing. She didn't seem super sure of herself when going to get my order ready. Another girl seemed to kind of take over and get frustrated with the girl who took my order. When she asked questions it seemed like she was met with attitude from her coworker(?). She did amazing though. Went to make my veggie dog and it was delicious! I'm sure its just some fast easy thing but she did it for me and did it quickly. She seemed a little overwhelmed by the big crowd and I really wish I could have given her a hug and let her know how well she was doing an amazing job but I didn't see her come back out. Girl if you are reading...

When we arrived there was a waitress walking around loudly proclaiming she had lost her coffee cup and could not find it. She had set it down in the dining room somewhere. Our waitress was polite and nice. The other waitress in our area was busy talking to one table and discussing things not necessarily appropriate for the situation. They had something on the Food Network where they were tearing apart a goat head. Definitely not appetizing. Ordered a prime rib steak medium. Soup was good but very Bland. Steak tasted off. Do not know if it was the seasoning or if it was reheated in a microwave. When we were leaving I was looking at the pies thinking maybe I would get a piece of pie before we went. then I noticed that there was so much condensation that some of them had over and quarter of an inch of water in the bottom of the pan. So obviously the pies have been in there for quite a while. The whole experience just seemed like nobody was really trying 2 give good service...
