This is a complete shame. Once a week we come to this establishment for our office lunch and every time we get the worse service. The employees are not very welcoming to the restaurant they walk around on their ear pods talking on the phone. Today was the last straw for us! Today we get there and no one greats us and when acknowledged us they didn't ask how many with the group she just walked away with menus so we assumed she was seating us then we get seated and it takes 15 mins for the server to come back and asks what do you want to eat...not what would you like to drink and are you ready to order. We order and it takes 45 mins to get our food there was about 10 people in the whole restaurant total including employees. We ask for the checks she dropped them off and never came back. Mind you we get 1 hour for lunch! we had to get up and take our bills to the register to get checked out. Now again i stated we are there 1 time a week sometimes 2 so we normally see this server and decided to ask her if she was having a bad day b/c the service was terrible and she started speaking Spanish to the other server that was there and they proceeded to roll her eyes and make noises! This is a complete shame there is nothing else to eat in Rising Sun so we give them the benefit of the doubt b/c of the over whelming about of customers due to there being NO WHERE else to go but being mistreated and disrespected is not called for I sure hope that something changes with this place and it wont close like every other business around. this place lost 5 customers today due to the neglect of the servers not even smiling to anyone while working. I gave 1 star b/c Alexis(Brandon) is the man! we love seeing him. The rest of them need an attitude adjustment or find another job b/c this...
Read moreSad about this one.. wrote my 1 post 6 months ago and I am writing it again today which is the 21 of oct... I went here today and I gave 60 I thought my bill was 39... and then when I got there she said 49 so I gave 60 to be nice bc I always tip ten or 20 bucks. She gave me some cents back and walks away I wait till she comes back hoping she will understand and sshe just says no I handed her 40. I'm so upset I come here 2 times a week and I love absolutely love a few waiters and waitress that's why I do usually tip big. So I left with my food.i hope you guys see this today and realize when the drawer is over20 bucks that there was ways you could have handled that like calling me at the eend of the night if I was right. I hope you enjoy the 20 because now.... I won't be back. Hope it's worth it. Anywho to the waiter and waitress that put the Carmel on the side for me and say Jackie go make me feel special sorry because you don't deserve this comment because your great. Sad for this day back to my old comment .....hands down my favorite place to go I at least try to go here at least once a week if not twice. I love everything . Servers have good attitudes when you call in the phone they're super respectful and they get down to details. I love the fish tacos the steak tacos the quesadillas the dessert the tortillas with the honey the churros the fried ice cream I could talk about this place for hours I just hope you all know that you're doing an amazing job and there's not many places in the rising Sun or Oxford area that are worth going to but I will always...
Read moreI had been looking forward to having dinner here for a while. I had heard really good things about it. I am a big fan of authentic Mexican food and have tried many many places from roadside taco stands to fancy restaurants and everything between. That said, I was very disappointed with the food here. It was incredibly bland. Thank goodness I got the "Rivera Maya Enchiladas" (it was displayed on the menu with 5 peppers beside it) because that was the only thing with flavor. I ordered a michalada, it tasted like strait tomato juice and beer. Honestly, I've had canned ones that's blew this one away. I paid extra for a side of guacamole. I swear it was simply smashed avocado with no other ingredients. That's not guac.
The atmosphere was pretty cool. It was very over the top. Every table and chair features colorful paintings of Frida Kahlo or Aztec warriors. And as far as local Mexican eateries go, this is on the higher end. There's a dining room and a separate bar.
It was packed the night I went and people seemed to really enjoy it. I did not. Maybe they're trying at offer "authentic Mexican" cuisine that appeals to the American pallet. I go to authentic Mexican places because I want authentic Mexican. If I wanted this I'd go...
