Soda Jerk Ice Cream — Restaurant in Rising Sun

We came in to try this place out after seeing it all over Facebook, and really wanted to try the weekday combo with the hot dog, chips, soda, and scoop of ice cream. I want to start off by saying the atmosphere is great and unique and the girl at the counter was really nice. But the combo was really disappointing. Our hot dogs were cold; we had them remade and the new ones came out cold too. I was a little disappointed that the soda selection was limited for the combo too since there looked to be so many cool options. The ice cream was rather basic as well. The good first time impression wasn't all there. I'm not sure I'd return in the near future personally, but if I do, I wouldn't get the combo again for sure. 3 stars because I know the business is fairly new and I'm sure is improving everyday.

Since I've left this review, I've magically been blocked from seeing their business page on my Facebook account that is attached to this account I am using to write this review, but can see it on my older profile that I don't use... I am changing my rating because that is just low. I understand that you don't want bad reviews but I gave 3 stars because it's a newer business. You'd think I gave 1 star with that reaction, and so that is what I am changing my review to. Also, we did not get a full refund, we got $5 back of the 21 something we paid. We've been here a few times since it's opening. On our first visit, we ordered waffle cones, and were blown away! These were the freshest waffle cones we've had, and we make it our mission to try every homemade ice cream spot within an hour's ride. The ice cream was also top notch. My partner tried coconut, which tasted like biting into a fresh sliced coconut melded with rich cream, and I think what I tried was called Zanzibar or something, and it was super chocolate yumness. Our second experience was for chocolate milkshakes that offered a cold, refreshing, creamy, rich, chocolatey goodness that just felt like love. And our most recent experience was for floats. I tried the birch beer with vanilla ice cream, and my partner chose sasparilla with vanilla ice cream. His was superior to mine, but it was awesome to have so many options to choose from to give it a little twist. A Poorly Written Ode to Zanzibar Chocolate Ice Cream at Soda Jerk

We couldn’t find good chocolate ice cream, It was driving us insania. But then we heard the best was Zanzibar And that Zanzibar was in Tanzania.

So off we drove to Africa (We had very little traffica) And we arrived, they said you must be daffia, We mostly sell seaweed and raffia*

They said, you need not go through such work For Zanzibar ice cream, and a guaranteed smirk, Just get back to Maryland and have a lurk. You’ll find yourself at Soda Jerk!

Just get upon the antipoda And right on the I-95 road-ah, For every state, they have a soda! And Zanzibar ice cream can be your coda.
