Ms. Sushi — Restaurant in River Edge

After having a horrible experience at Fuki Sushi further up the road my family and I ended up here.

I was trepidations at first based on the dumpy looking exterior of the strip mall and the lack luster interior design.

Don't let looks cool you here. This apparently couple owned sushi place blew my wife and I away.

Language barrier here might be a small problem as we had to reaffirm our order to the waitress more than a few times.

Rolls come in six pieces. My son usually gets cucumber and avocado. He usually can eat about 36 pieces or six rolls. The waitress and the chef we're in disbelief. We had to assure them that the quantity was correct. They were equally impressed with how many rolls we ordered for my daughter.

My wife and I ordered two specialty rolls that were a presentation masterpiece. I wished that I had snapped a picture to in life in this review.

The chef was impressed that we ate everything. As a special gift the chef prepared a unique roll for our table. As a special gift they gave each of our kids a vanilla ice cream with red bean inside.

I'd definitely go back here based on the quality, freshness and present ration of the rolls as well as the friendliness...

Excellent sushi - and the owners make you feel welcomed and like you're guests dining at their house with them. I look forward to ordering here because often they'll give me a fruit to munch on while waiting - it's absolutely the most adorable and thoughtful thing. My daughter (9!!) loves their sushi and the quality is always perfect. Would highly recommend this place. The place is small but they do have dine-in tables as well, though we've only ever gotten take-out. Very much a family run small business and it needs the recognition for the effort they put...

The chirashi I ordered for takeout smelled weird, mostly like formaldehyde. The pieces of octopus (tako) tasted fishy and salty, the crab sticks were slimy and what i assume was herring with roe tasted too salty. The tuna and salmon tasted ok though.

I ended up throwing everything away after tasting the different sashimi types just in case I'd get seriously ill from it. I thought about returning everything and request a refund, but I had already gone home and didn't want to bother.
