Crecco's Cafe — Restaurant in River Vale

They’ve addressed the situation which I previously detailed below. To me it was a matter of principle that it’s fixed, so I stopped by and spoke to the owner. He was professional and fixed the situation right away. Since then I have gone back in person several times and have ordered for pick-up as well.

Initial review: Terrible customer relations. I am so annoyed right now. I called to place an order and was told by a female manager that they will not accept an order from me because supposedly I placed an order in November 2019 and didn’t pick up it. This is simply IMPOSSIBLE! I would genuinely never ever do such a thing. I explained to to her that this must be a mistake and she remained cold and completely inflexible. Eventually she said she would take my order if I paid her the $12 I “owed” from November . I do not owe you $12, in fact you owe me an apology! I really hope the owners of Crecco’s see this. Someone definitely made a record keeping mistake on the orders! You just lost a customer whose family orders out and...

WOW!!! I finally found an Italian restaurant that knows how pasta should be cooked...AL DENTE ! One time I order penne carbonara and asked for it extra al dente and to my surprise it was. Last night (1/5/2020), I ordered spaghetti and meatballs and asked for it extra al dente and bingo.... spot on. I've eaten at some really pricey Italian restaurants and they didn't know or didn't care how to serve pasta. It really should be served al dente, but since most people don't know or care it doesn't really matter, but when you ask for it al dente then that is the way it should be served and not mushy. Anyway, the chef's/cooks at Crecco's get it and are to be commended for listening to the wait staff who takes the order. I was pleased with the whole experience at Crecco's and found my new go to place for great casual dining. I am always reluctant to order a burger in an Italian place, but when I did it was actually one of the best burgers I ever had... go to Crecco's, they have a great take out...

If you like being treated with rudeness, disdain, and disrespect, then this is the place for you and your family.

We were regulars for several years, but after our last experience, we (and our extended family and friends in the area) will no longer give Crecco’s our business.

Here’s some advice: If you have a kids menu, you can’t repeatedly come to a table with kids (all playing nicely in their seats) and scold them for being kids using normal kid voices in a group setting. Not to mention, the place was nearly empty.

If you’re having trouble hearing phone call orders (as we were told), maybe don’t seat a party with multiple kids near the phone. There were plenty of open tables further away.

Management ignored our attempts to discuss this incident, so we made the easy decision to stop rewarding Crecco’s with our business. Luckily, there are dozens of places nearby with better food...
