Ok, this is my reasoning for the rating. A college classmate, who I havenât seen in a while decided to meet and have lunch. I arrived early and explained to the hostess that I was waiting for another person to join me. I was seated. I waiting for 15-20 minutes before a waitress acknowledged my presence. Iâm cool but my mind is saying, âSomeone should have greeted me by now.â I was seated at 12:25 my waitress approached me at 12:25- 12:50 (this is the time Iâm texting to ask my classmates where is she? With a friendly but curious voice, I said, âI was wondering when someone was going to arrive.â Mind you, I noticed the same waitress 15-20 ago.đŹ I kept a smile because I had to wait anyway but I just thought it was a little rude. This is because after I informed her I would like a cup of coffee until the other parter arrive. She said, I will be back when the other person arrives. As I wait, I noticed her talking with the two hostess at the front and then they all look over at me.đłđ Yes, I have my eye on you all as well. While waiting, two ppl came in sat in the same area, actually in front of me. I could not believe that was the same waitress waiting on me.đđł She greeted them in an expeditiously time, told them the special for the day, and a few other things.đ¤Śđ˝ââď¸ I said ok, maybe she will do the same when my guess comes.đ My guess finally comes not have knowledge of anything that has happened. She goes to explain what took so long and the area of when she was coming from. The waitress then states, âOh, yeah i will be there tomorrow with my girlfriend.â Iâm not sure if she wanted us to know she had a girlfriend.đ¤Śđ˝ââď¸đ¤ˇđ˝ââď¸đ¤Śđ˝ââď¸ We didnât care if she is she or he. What important when severing others is fair treatment and treat other no matter the color, gender, religious or preference! We both are Christian people and was there to discuss church obligations.đ At the end when waitress realized NO one was there to judge her she was very pleasant! I wanted to say something but I will leave it here! If you choose to love who you love then love. If you choose to be who you choose to be she/he whatever pronouns you choose, then do so proudly and with confidence. Donât assume everyone is the same because of your insecurities! Moving in your authentic being without shame will help you to treat people a little more equal than different. The Caesar salad had too much salad dressing, atmosphere was good, I would have tipped more but I didnât because of my first thought and would I visit...
Read moreOh my dear beloved Burtons, This is our go-to restaurant as a Celiac family. Any event, celebration, etc, we are at Burtons. Unfortunately, the Riverdale location is going off of our list and will be returning to the Alexandria location. When I say we go for all the celebrations, I'm not joking. Yesterday was the worst experience we have ever had at any restaurant and it was brunch on Father's Day. Mother's Day was fine. We were there. No issues. But, Father's Day was a diabolical disaster. If this was our first experience, which I fear it was some people's first time, I would never come back. Let me start by saying, the serving staff was amazing. You could tell the kitchen was falling apart but they were trying their best to hold the front of house together. I am going to repeat that we were there for brunch so when I say there were no water pitchers or food was unavailable, you know it got worse throughout the day into dinner service. Why advertise specials that you don't have? My husband and I both ordered off the specials menu. Appetizer sold out (at brunch.. yikes), main course was unrecognizable. They didn't have mashed potatoes, which were part of the dish. The sauce was missing from the chicken, and the chicken was more like Jerky. Needless to say, I took my meal home and didn't eat it. I was offered french fries at the end of my meal when I was informed there were in fact no mashed potatoes cooked. I took those home too. My daughter also ordered chicken that she didn't eat because hers was also a dried out jerky form. I will say, the waitress did comp a piece of chocolate cake, but after spending $150 on meals that 3/4 of us didn't eat, I decided you need to do better. In this economy, $150 for a family of 4 to have brunch comes with a certain expectation and you failed. Like I said, our family adores Burtons and we know what this restaurant is capable of and a busy brunch isn't an excuse to lose customers. I can only imagine what a mess dinner service was when you were running out of food by lunch time. Poor management destroys business. Do better. You have a strong reputation to uphold in the allergy and...
Read moreA Five-Star Sunday Brunch at Burtonâs Grill & Bar â Worth the Wait!
Our Sunday brunch at Burtonâs Grill & Bar was nothing short of exceptional! Given that this spot is clearly a go-to destination for an after-church meal, there was a 20-minute wait for a table. But that only confirmed what we already suspectedâthis place is popular for a reason! While we waited, we grabbed drinks at the bar, where Will, the bartender, impressed us with his mixology skills. His craft cocktails were beautifully balanced, and our mocktails were just as thoughtfully prepared.
Once seated, we were welcomed by our amazing server, Bella, who provided top-tier recommendations and attentive service throughout the meal. The hostess, Evelyn, had already set the tone with her warm greeting and professional attention when we arrived, making us feel right at home.
The food? Absolutely outstanding. Burtonâs prides itself on its scratch kitchen concept, and it shows in the quality and freshness of every dish. We loved that the menu included gluten-free and vegetarian options, and the kitchen was incredibly accommodatingâwilling to make substitutions to cater to a GERD-friendly diet, which was a huge plus.
For our brunch feast, we ordered three entrees, three kid's beverages, two cocktails, and two mocktails for around $140âan excellent value considering the exceptional service and high-quality ingredients. Everything was cooked to perfection, bursting with flavor, and plated beautifully.
Beyond just the food, Burtonâs is a fantastic venue for group functions and family gatherings. The post-church crowd was out in full force, adding to the lively and welcoming atmosphere. Despite the wait, the entire experienceâfrom the service to the drinks to the mealâwas absolutely worth it.
If you're looking for a place where hospitality, exceptional food, and top-notch service come together seamlessly, Burtonâs Grill & Bar is the spot. Weâll definitely be back!
