We went in and there were two people (a couple) in line. As we entered, they were being served. While they were being served, one man who had been in the store before we arrived got in line behind us. There was nobody else in line. After the guy finished taking the couple's order, we stepped up expecting him to start taking ours. But no. He asked if he could attend to the guy in line behind us since the rest of his order had already come out. We said ok. It was just one dude. But then after he finished with that guy's pizza, he started working on orders that had come in from online or elsewhere. We literally stood there, nobody else in the line besides us, and watched him make 5 other pizzas. Finally, just as we were getting ready to leave, a co-worker came over and told him to take our order, which he reluctantly did.
I understand that the online orders may have come in before we got there, but I think it was rude for the guy to just ignore us as he made all those other pizzas. If he had explained that he had a bunch of online orders that had come in before we arrived, we could have made a decision about whether we wanted to wait or whether we wanted to leave, the same way we could have decided to wait or stay if we had seen a physical line of people waiting. The way he handled it made me not want to go back.
Even if the service had been better, the pizza was still only ok. I don't think I'll return...
Read moreWorst mod pizza experience ever. We dropped by on the evening of February 18th when it was still 15-20 minutes before close time and the girl at the counter seemed to hate us before she even knew us -- none of the groovy flower power personality mod pizza's chill employees have gotten us used to, just an unpleasant personality, the kind of mad-at-life unhappy person who shouldn't work with the public.
As we were getting ready to sit down to eat our pizza, she told us we couldn't stay inside and would have to eat outside (cold winter evening). Well, we're late night kinda guys and we've been to other mod pizzas towards the end before and they were friendly and let us eat our meal while they wrapped their things -- i have to assume the chain is decent enough to pay them for the cleaning time after close time anyway, right?! But she had that attitude of "I wanna go home as early as possible and these 2 tourists aren't gonna ruin my chance of achieve it."
At this point I have to say the other employees were friendly in a typical mod pizza way, but apparently the unhappy girl was running the show.
The evening ended up with us eating pizza in the wind and chasing our napkin as the wind took it away. Wow! How gross. We've been going to mod pizza at least since I happily discovered it in Houston Texas, but...
Read moreThe food looks, smells, and tastes phenomenal, and at $11 for their largest size, how can you lose? They have great garlic bread, and their crust is great.
The presentation is perfect, as I never felt like I was in any less than a 4.5-5 star restaurant. If you want quality food and to hang out with a couple friends or maybe a love interest/partner, this atmosphere is perfect. Itâs pizza with class.
But what REALLY sold me? The SERVICE!!
I walked in and immediately was greeted with a kind hello. It seems that thatâs fallen out of practice. The two that worked on my food were Oscar and Chae. They were absolutely ON IT, taking my order and leaving a smile on my face with their small talk and highly professional manner. They have a very aesthetic kitchen area that SCREAMS style, and they worked around the kitchen effortlessly. They knew what they were talking about, they offered me the right deals, let me know what their most requested items were, and even showed me their mobile app.
They have made a returning customer out of me. If youâre looking for a pizza place near Riverdale Park,...
