A local chain's Hyattsville outpost. The food is a cross between Mexican street fare (ie the good stuff) and Tex-Mex. On a 2nd visit, the result is acceptable but underwhelming. The weak points are key ones. The corn tortillas are dry, and not delicious. They don't feel made from scratch, and don't have enough oil. If you want to taste proper corn tortillas for comparison, try the famous R&R Taqueria in Elkridge, MD. Maybe flour are better, but Mexican street fare is traditionally corn. And the meats I've tried thus far (several, and at peak times) are sort of dry and not as well seasoned as they should be. Americanized filling maybe? Take the Huevos Rancheros for example. They look awfully much like a sloppy enchilada, with none of the distinct components or potent flavors in other versions I've had. The meat is all but lost under the heavy top layer of cheese. Is it filling for the $9? Sure. Worth repeating? Debatable. Salsas are fresh and tasty, with 4-5 varieties (and pico) available. Staff are cordial. Prices are reasonable. This location has ample free parking nearby. There's one or two outdoor tables, and the Riverdale Park Station layout lends itself to a post-dinner stroll.

I rarely give 5 stars because most restaurant experiences just simply don't warrant that. District Taco gets 5 stars! The menu is EASY to read and navigate. If you find it hard, there's something wrong with YOU! I digress. This was my first visit. Never heard of the company but, a friend treated me to lunch. It was supercalifragilisticeaspialidocious!!!!! I have not one complaint! My order was taken quickly. The food was made fast. The food is just extraordinary! All of the meats are PERFECTLY seasoned. I ordered the nachos with barbacoa, Mexican and American way. You HAVE to try this! It was almost like a taco salad because of the lettuce that I added. The price was also PERFECT! The portions PERFECT! They even offer an outlet WITH a USB port for your charging needs! Come on! Who else is doing that for their customers???! I'm so happy I found this place. Lifelong customer after a bit more expansion. I will definitely be back!😘😘😘

We love love love this place! We come here on the weekends for later breakfast when we crave enormous breakfast tacos or burritos. The tacos are so huge that my boyfriend can fit only two and I can handle only one 😁❤️ Also, we get guacamole or pico de gallo. We also get fountain drinks. Our favorite spot is outside, they do a great job of making those three tables very comfortable and cosy. They always have some plants that separate visitors from the road, which is very thoughtful and lovely. The morning sun hits those tables, so it is especially warming during colder fall days. There are also umbrellas outside. The staff is always friendly and smiling, just making the place even more attractive. And the food is delicious! Really good breakfast tacos and burritos. My pictures might not be the best but I wanted to emphasize the size and the fullness of the taco 🌮❤️

I placed an online order to the location in Riverdale, MD for a delivery time of 2:30 PM at my job. I was happy to know that this restaurant delivered because my coworker and I did not have to leave to pick up our lunch, we can continue to work. We had heard that the food was good; therefore, we were excited to try District Taco. It was not until 3:00 PM that I decided to call the District Taco, Riverdale location to see what had occurred. I decided to call the Riverdale location and spoke with a gentleman who stated the food was still there no one picked it up. From that statement I let the gentleman know that I would be coming to the location to pick up the food. I arrived at District Taco in Riverdale around 3:15 PM. I spoke with the manager, about what occurred. She stated that she would not be able to refund any charges back to me because it has to go through her district manager. The manager, stated the location uses Grub Hub and does not have control if no one picks up the order. I am most annoyed that nothing could be done regarding this issue. There should be a disclaimer on the website letting customers know that Grub Hub is the delivery service and there could be a possibility that orders would not be delivered. A phone call would have sufficed in this matter to let me know as the customer that delivery service was not offered. I specifically ordered additional items, because there was a $20.00 minimum charge in order to have the food delivered and I paid for a delivery fee of $5.50 plus 15% tip (3.71) which made my total $35.45. Again, as the customer I paid a fee and tip to a company in which I was responsible for picking up the meal I thought would...

The food was relatively good. I got a burrito instead of a taco so my experience may not be relevant to everyone. I came in wanting a taco, but (perhaps understandably) many if not all came with either cheese or mayonnaise on them, and I (disliking both) went with a burrito instead. With that in mind, on to the review!

I added guacamole to my burrito for a small fee and it was a little disappointing - it certainly tasted fresh, but it had almost no flavor and was completely overpowered by the (relatively bland, even) other items in the burrito (chicken, black beans, white rice, cilantro).

The soda fountain was not traditional, and actually only contained soda from one brand (I can't remember the name, but it was quite good) - cream soda, birch beer, root beer, and other classic bottled sodas. Just an interesting note.

The dips were numerous and pretty good (and free), but (this is a relatively minor complaint) the little plastic thimbles you fill with the dip are too small to dip a chip in! This is disappointing because the dips were quite good. Perhaps I missed a larger cup size to fill.

Overall it was a pleasant, clean-feeling alternative to Q'doba and/or Chipotle. I wouldn't rate it super highly for what I got, but then again, I got a burrito and not a taco at a place called District Taco....
