Habit Burger & Grill — Restaurant in Riverdale Park

My mom and I were looking for somewhere to eat that wasn't expensive and was something up our alley.

I may be breaking burger code, but The Habit Burger Grill is far above Five Guys and any other fast food burger places. I've had Culver's, In-And-Out, as well as the usuals like McDonald's, etc. This place blows them all away.

We were greeted upon entering, and the man was so nice and personable. We felt truly welcome. The prices are cheaper than Five Guys and even McDonald's, for some menu items. The establishment was nearly spotless, which you don't often see at fast food restaurants. There is plenty of seating, 3 computers to self-order, and 2 registers to order from a person. You can order on their app and they have it waiting for you on a rack. It was nice having drink options other than fountain soda. Different iced teas, as well as hibiscus and strawberry lemonades.

Everyone we spoke to was super nice and helpful. You don't get that many places anymore.

I wish we lived closer, because we definitely would make this a habit, as the name suggests. We need a location in Annapolis! But we will...

The habit burger grill is a lovely place with delicious burgers! No alcohol, only food and fountain drinks. I do like my burger with a beer, so we usually choose the other option. But if you want to come with kids and not to be around the alcohol atmosphere, then this place is exactly what you need. They have inside and outside seating with umbrellas. You order when you walk in and pick it up when it’s ready. We got the double chargrill burger and it was great! I don’t have a picture because I was so hungry that devoured that burger without remembering to share the photo with you. It was raining outside while we were finishing our meal but the stuff came out to make sure we’re comfortable and if we need another umbrella. It was very sweet and caring of them. It is located in Riverdale Park, right across the Whole Foods store. They have arranged tall planters with beautiful flowers along the road to give their visitors some privacy and noise reduction from the road. Sitting outside is pretty satisfying. I'm in my forties. I appreciate a good gourmet adult burger. There are establishments where you can pay $13-$20 for such a beast within ten minutes of here, and I've done so, and they're what you'd expect. But sometimes I want the burger of my youth: a burger with yellow mustard and American cheese and onion rings that came out of a freezer bag. A burger utterly without pretension, but not something impersonal and fast-foody -- a solid comfort food burger.

Habit Burger has that NAILED. Two juicy patties, three-napkin minimum to handle the grease and mayo-ketchup-mustard dripping out, perfectly melted cheese. We're going through some health stuff ("in my forties," you may recall) so I ordered the onion rings and fries without sodium; I overheard them in the back taking particular care to get that right.
