The food here was under seasoned and under whelming. Nothing was really terrible but nothing was really great either. 3 stars for service as our waitress was helpful, the drinks from the bar came quick, and the food came out well timed.
We started with a bunch of apps beer cheese pretzels, dumplings, nachos, and mac & cheese bites . Nachos were the winners for this round, dumpling filling had an off putting texture and the dumpling sauce was heavy and salty; the beer cheese didn’t taste very cheesey but the pretzel was soft. Mac and cheese bites had no salt or flavor but they were crispy and would be good with the sauce they served with it.
We ordered balsamic green beans and chicken pot pie croissant. Why you would put a big scoop of chicken pot pie over a perfectly fine croissant is beyond me but the croissant was buttery and delicious and the salad it was served with was easily the best thing on the table all night dressed up with a spicy mustard dressing. The pot pie filling was lacking salt and the chicken tasted very.. chickeny😅. The green beans were greasy and swimming in a pool of some unidentified oil. They were not edible.
We remarked the ambience and decor had us a bit confused since it didn’t seem like a real theme could be identified. Is it a sports bar? Trying to be fine dining? The word “blu” is in the title but why?
Overall my wine arrived timely, service was warm I might recommend for...
Read moreIf I could rate this place a 0, I would have. To be honest, I normally do not review places but this needed to be said because I literally spent the whole ride back to NY wondering how this could even be open. I ordered a lobster risotto as my main entree and for my appetizer I ordered a spinach and artichoke dip. My total bill including the other meals ordered came out to 74$ not including tip. Neither of these things tasted good. The spinach and artichoke came on a plate with sliced carrots and celery along with 4 small pieces of bread with 4 square sizes of pita bread. The artichoke dip tasted like it was in the fridge for days and just microwaved prior to my order. The pieces of bread were stale. The celery was the best part. The main entree was even worse. The lobster tasted like I was chewing on a tire and instead of risotto I had bland white rice and frozen canned green peas and corn. To top it off, the waitress wasn’t really coming by to ask how everything was. She wasn’t even there to give us our check it was some other waiter who seemed like he was in a rush to get us out. I could have gone to five guys and spent twice as less and had an amazing meal. For those of you reading, this is my personal experience but paying almost 74$ for food that was of such poor quality is astounding to me. The only thing I enjoyed...
Read moreOut running some errands and decided to stop in for the first time to have a late lunch. We ordered a water with lemon and a Pepsi for drinks and put in an app order for the dumplings. Drinks came out...no lemon with the water and after a couple of minutes, I figured he wasn't coming back with straws. So I grabbed a couple from a cart by the outside door. The app was brought out and again after a few minutes, we figured he wasn't coming back with an utensils or napkins....so I grabbed some again from the cart. The app was very good!!! Would definitely recommend. Our meals came out and she ordered the steak sandwich (sliced steak, onions, mushrooms). There was no "sliced" to this meat as you can see from the pic, chucks of steak instead that left quite a few bare areas of bread. The fries were good that came with it. I ordered the steak quesadilla that came with Spanish Rice. While I realize that this is NOT a Mexican food place, I was still expecting the rice to have some sort of flavor. The steak in the quesadilla didn't really seem to be seasoned either....typically you can taste something that resembles cumin, chili powder, coriander, paprika. I am willing to come back and try something else before giving up, so we will see how the...
