Canyon Crest Ice Cream & Water — Restaurant in Riverside

The owner seems to be mad at the world. You walk in and he doesn’t say hello and he does not acknowledge you so then you proceed to fill your own water. As I reach in my pocket to pay, he stares at me and he points at the cap without saying a word and I asked what was wrong. Still not saying a word he grabs it and he puts it in this area on top of his shelf which is supposed to be a UV ray box thing but mind you, I’ve never been to this location so I was not aware we were supposed to put them in that area. His first words after 1 min awkward silence is just that the box has been there for 15 years. Like if it was my fault for not knowing. I’m not trying to throw shade at this establishment or anyone making a living, just want to let others know that this is what you should expect as there is no customer service which really requires minimum interaction and I doubt it is a language barrier because I’ve heard him speak English. I’m confused at all these 1 star reviews. The owner is an older Korean man who doesn’t speak much English but he’s always been efficient and thorough. He takes my 5 gallon jug, rinses it, puts the cap in the UV cleaner without me having to ask, he fills up my water, and then proceeds to ring me up. When there are customers before me I see him do the same for them. It’s such a simple process for us, not much talking required… I guess a smile can go a long way, but some people aren’t super smiley, it doesn’t mean they’re rude or unprofessional. 1st the regular h2o is good, The owner guy unfortunately doesn't seem to like customers coming into the store to get regular h2o though. I always understood the concept of paying for goods and business owners making a decent living. He doesn't seem to be a happy camper being there. He's usually will try to send you to the outside regular h2o machine even when he has no customers inside, he will literally direct you there 'use machine. I have multiple 1 gal bottles.
