This is a terrible place to go to. You'll see a lot of workers but you don't even know who is on the "clock" because you don't see any sense of urgency from any of them. I don't know who owns this place but they should start evaluating the operation on a daily basis. Yes, price of the food is affordable but not that all healthy nor properly prepared for that matter. I know we are not force to eat there, so why complain, right? This is why.....service is HORRIBLE!! We felt like they are doing us a favor for being there. When we entered the restaurant, a not so friendly server asked us how many. She picked up 4 menus and placed them on a table....we're guessing that that's probably where she wants us to sit. So we sat down, looking on the menu, deciding what to order. Some workers were wrapping silver-ware, some were on their cell, some walking around, some just chatting. After about 7 or 9 minutes passed, we were still wondering who's going to be our server, considering this was about 3:20 pm and the place wasn't busy at all. Finally, one of the workers wrapping silver-ware came to our table and said that she'll be waiting on us. We placed the order, my son substituted one of the items on the menu for extra egg instead, and we also ordered 2 orders of pork kabobs for appetizer. The soup came out first and she grabbed 2 wrapped silver-wares for my husband and I. The main entrees followed, we asked for 2 more set of silver-wares for my son and my granddaughter. She offered if we wanted an extra plate for my granddaughter, which I thought was a nice gesture. We said yes; she brought the plate but she didn't say anything that the plate was VERY hot. She said that they are recooking the pork kabobs, which I did not understand that at all. Finally the pork came out; we never saw her again; nobody visited or checked if we are doing okay. When we were ready to check out, we asked the same girl who asked us "how many" if we can get our check. She gave it to us, but I had an inquiry about an extra charge on the bill. She looked and acted upset like we were bugging her. She took the receipt and asked someone about it because the girl who served us was no where to find. She then explained to us each line, which was not my question, and said that the extra charge was for the extra egg "understand?". I told her that it was a substitution instead of another meat. She looked very frustrated and mad at this point, so I said don't worry about it. She ran my card, gave me the receipt to sign, took it back then just walked away. MY POINT HERE IS, WE WORK SO HARD FOR OUR MONEY AND WHEN WE SPEND IT IN ANY BUSINESS ESTABLISHMENTS, WE SHOULD BE APPRECIATED BY HELPING THEM TO KEEP THEIR DOORS OPEN. FOR ALL WORKERS, PRESENT YOUR SELF LIKE YOU WANT TO EARN A LIVING. FOR LINH'S BISTRO, PLEASE REEVALUATE YOUR OPERATION: FOOD AND ESPECIALLY YOUR SERVICE. YOU'RE NOT THE ONLY VIETNAMESE/CHINESE RESTAURANT IN THE AREA; TAKE NOTE: YOUR FOOD IS NOT THE...

As a former employee at this place, I have a lot to say. Linh's Bistro of itself, is a nice family owned restaurant with a great community surrounding it, however once you get to work there, you get to see how awful the place can get.
Working conditions God awful, the only reason why I stayed how long I stayed was because of the pay and occasional good days. The management there is illegal and highly flawed. Issues could be anywhere from unfair tip distribution to a lack of understanding talking to the manager. The place is sometimes extremely dirty and the restrooms aren't frequently maintained. The other workers, such as the cooks, pretty much only speak Vietnamese, so good luck communicating to them when you need to.
Not to mention, the head manager is horrible at understanding your point in incidents. When calling off work, it's fair to leave at least a day notice, but when you're unexpectedly sick or say last minute doctors check up, the manager won't understand. You will just have to find someone to cover for you, BUT there are no workers left to help cover for you. Lastly, if you mess up , it's your fault, but when the cooks/manager messes up, it's also your fault. The best you would get in return is a pitiful excuse essentially saying it's still your fault. Just don't even consider working here.
Food The food here has changed a bit, and to my understanding, the old owners were better. As of now, the food is good, there are some dishes that just shouldn't be on the menu, and some that are very good. For a while, the place had a real fly issue and in the back, it is not too clean there.
Service The cooks in the back get their job done. and so do the servers/waiters out in the front. Overall, the place has nice and quick service. Employees that were working there (when I was working there) were amazing, some of the best customer service I have encountered. But as time goes on, people move on and as a result, the place has become less of an inviting place. Linh's Bistro have lost their best workers and they are quite frankly desperate for more employees. In the search for new workers, I have never once seen a white worker there, and only Asian workers.
Overall Again, don't even bother working here, the place is illegal and not extremely well kept, there are better jobs that don't put your emotional well-being on the line. However, feel free to eat there, the least busiest time to eat there would be from 4-5pm. Please note, this is only from...
Read moreAbout two years ago, I gave this establishment 5 stars. Delicious food, great staff & excellent service. We have been enjoying this place since 2009 when we first moved to the Dayton area. Of course, good things never last. We will never step a foot or order take-out from this place again. We walked in a little before 7 pm. We ordered 2 soft drinks, one hot tea & one water no ice. We got a pitcher of water, mostly ice, four empty plastic glasses & two hot sause bottles that we didn'task for., two glasses of ice, two cans of soda, four more empty plastic glasses & a pot of hot tea. We ordered 3 appetizers & they were good & arrived at the booth at the same time, which was the only good thing during our meal. After a very long time, our 4 main dishes started trickling out of the kitchen one at a time. I don't understand how one person should eat & others watch. We came together to eat together. The second dish arrivered about 5 minutes after the first. The third dish was the same as the second but without mushrooms arriver 3 minutes later. The last dish arrived over 7 minutes later & was not at all what I have been used to. No one checked to see if our food was ok. We didn't complain. I went to the counter to pay & a young woman with a faked smile I asked me if everything was OK. I began to tell her it was not & she rudely told me that the close early on Sunday. I really thought that she cared & wanted to know! I remember Lisa & how thoughtful & personable she was. This young woman was mean & ready to fight. The manager stepped in & told her that he would handle it. She walked away, still arguing. I said that I don't appreciate her attitude & that since I pay her salary & that I would not have been treated like that if Lisa was there. She told me I should go to where Lisa works. I paid my bill & added a little less than 20% as tip. I found out that paying with a credit card would add a charge to the total. Rude people, bad service &...
