Normally, I would never write a negative review even if I had a poor experience. However, this is a special case and I feel obligated to share my experience.
I came into Brown Sugar Coffee Roastery in early February when taking my dog to the vet in Riverton. I had heard good things about BSCR online and wanted to stop in to give it a go. The coffee was good and the conversation was pleasant. When I went to pay, the WiFi had gone out and my card was not running. I wanted to leave, and perhaps it was naive of me, but I wrote down my card number so they could charge it for my coffee once their system was back up. I left, happy, and didn't think anything about leaving my information as I would have done the same thing in Lander.
The next month, I was going through expenses and saw that Venmo had charged my card twice for things I was unfamiliar with. One charge was for $200 and the second charge was for $100. I called my bank and I called the Venmo customer service line to figure out if I had done something and just did not remember. Venmo advised me that someone had used my card number to pay themselves from their account. After I called the bank, they advised me the charges happened within a few hours of giving my information to the BSCR. They were able to dispute the charges for me.
I called the coffee shop once discovering this and spoke to a very helpful employee that said that she would give my information to the manager and that the manager would call me as soon as possible. It has been over a month since calling them and leaving them messages but I have not heard back from them. I am very disappointed in the whole experience and will not...
Read moreFirst time here, not welcomed by the three girls working the coffee/cafe there when I walked through the door. Stood in front for at least 2 to 3 minutes with no one else around me and was still not spoken to. I finally was rudely asked what I wanted and placed my order. The girl then glaring at me to see what kind of a tip I left and I left a good tip! 20%!! She leaves the cup on the bar and walks off saying they didn’t have the ingredients for what I ordered. A Chai... why was that not mentioned before I paid...they watered down the drips left from the premade bottle of chai and were giggling about it in front of me. I also paid for a shot of espresso to be added in it and never got it either. Dirty cleaning rags used, so brown they matched the wood on the counter. Gross! They kept dropping stuff on the floor like mixing spoons and lids put it back on the counter. My drink of course, tasted horrible. It looked and tasted like milky water, because there was no espresso or chai in it! Matched the service and cleanliness. Yes, I could’ve had them re-do it, but they knew what they served me and didn’t care at all-so why bother? Didn’t feel welcomed to begin with. I’ll just take my business elsewhere...
Read moreOne star is too many. My wife and I tried to eat lunch there over the weekend. The restaurant was maybe 1/4 full. The sign said seat yourself, so we did. But had to at a dirty table as none of them had been cleaned and there was food all over the floor. When we walked in we walked past two girls behind the counter and a couple waitresses walked in and out, and not one of them greeted us. We sat at the table waiting and no one ever came to check on us or even clean the table. We saw a waitress finally go over to another couple who appeared to have been there for awhile, waiting as well. They refused menus because of their long wait and the waitress just walked away from them. After that we left and went and ate at the Country Club. Where we were greeted immediately and had exceptional service. Unfortunately we have had this experience with Brown Sugar on multiple occasions. With the limited options in Riverton, we have tried to go there despite the service continually being awful. This was the last time for us, we won't waste...
