The Depot Restaurant — Restaurant in Riverton

We had a very bad experience here just recently, it was my daughter's birthday and we had 11 people who wanted to celebrate her birthday with her. So we chose the Depot and we wanted to sit out side on the deck. So we asked the waitress if we could move two tables together and she said yes but be careful they are very heavy, we had men with us so we moved the two tables together very gently as we seen that the bottom was not attached . The waitress even helped us move them... So as our evening went on the drink server came out and had a very rude attitude with us and after she went in the other staff started perking out the back patio door pointing at us and whispering to each other ... So the manager came out or I think she was the manager , an older lady and she got mad at us for moving the tables we tried to explain to her that it was my daughters birthday and we all wanted to sit together and that the hostess even said it was ok to move the tables together... But she argued with my husband so my husband said he wasn't goin to put up with rude , bad service and that we world go eat elsewhere so she said good!!! And she called us rude 😭 we have never had this kind of experience from the Depot ever... We always had a great time here until this day... Probably won't ever go back...

Service was horrible. We arrived 30 minutes before closed to a very grumpy server. She did not welcome us and was frowning the whole time. When it came time to order she said she could not make the food we requested due to it being 30 minutes till close. Which we understood and the proceeded to ask what we could order. In a snarky tone she said “ANYTHING THAT DOESN’T TAKE 20-30 MINUTES TO MAKE”. Logically as a costumer how would we know how long each food item does or doesn’t take to make? We ended up only ordering drinks because nothing apparently on the menu could be made at the time. She brought us the check and followed it up with a “next time come in earlier than 30 minutes before close and we can actually make you some food”. She then proceeded to smile and thank the table next to us for coming in. If our server (a lady with colorful hair) had simply been friendly and a lot less snarky, and would’ve explained that certain things cannot be made after a certain time we would understand. The restaurant should announce somewhere by the entrance that food will not be served at or after 8:30 pm or just change their close...

My fiancée wanted me to go to this place cause she’s been there a few times and said it was great. I have worked in food industry for 13 years and have never had this bad of service, I still did tip but it was because the food was great now I do know bar rules and my fiancée left her I’d at home so I bought her a drink using my id I have never had a problem with this till tonight. They were gonna take the drink away cause I wasn’t going to drink it. Luckily we live 2 blocks away from the restaurant so my fiancée went and got her id to enjoy her drink. The server I think could use more time learning how to space out her tables out. We waited for a good 15-20min just to close our check cause she tried to rush others tables getting the chips drinks and food all in one go. Should of set there water and chips down then said I will be right back to grab drink orders then check on other tables then go back ect I hope to try this place again but hopefully with better service.
