Thongpoon Thai Chef — Restaurant in Riverton

Stopped by on our way across Wyoming on a motorcycle trip, looking for something local and unique. Our options were few on a Sunday afternoon, but we couldn’t have been luckier to find this place. The food was great, as was the service.

We started with some steamed dumplings. I was expecting some frozen gyoza-style dumplings that everyone seems to have now. These were unique, round dumplings with a Thai dipping sauce and some tiny crunchy bits on top for a nice addition to the texture. I loved them—and I am a dumpling fiend—and was sorry that I offered to share.

I opted for my Thai go-to: Pork Pad See Ew. Other than the addition of celery slices, which I’m not used to, it was quite good. My travel partner had Chicken Drunken Noodle, which he reported as well cooked and tasty while not being too spicy.

I have been enjoying Thai food for 45 yrs. My friend recommended this restaurant and I was happy the minute I walked in. The waiter recommended the Thai lettuce rap as an appetize. My friend order chicken teriyaki and I ordered the Pad si yew. I ALSO GET something to go so I got the Masseman curry. My favorite soup is Thom Kai so I ask for a little sample sip. OMG my friend tried it for the first time and I was so surprised. I could taste the lemon grass, Thai basal and galange root. We both absolutely loved it. Best I have had in yrs. The Curry is also very savory and amazing. I wish they served wine. My only recommendation is to serve a small salad or a cup of Tom Yum soup.Would definitely get the taste buds going. Overall... delicious food!! very big portions, plenty of vegetables. the soda is from cans, not a fountain. I ordered the thai boba tea and was happy with it, i think it might be 20oz. adding photos of the current menu.
