First off I am not huge on negative reviews, and formerly working in the food industry for 10+ years, I get that it gets busy, the kitchen falls behind, and trying to please hungry customers and still keep a brave face and service with a smile is difficult, but this incident was absolutely unacceptable. The sweet hostess was so kind and that is truly the only reason I gave somewhat of a good review on service. Her body language screamed she was terrified to ask the kitchen staff for a time remaining on our pick up order we made through door dash.
Originally I placed the order for pick up through door dash at 7:20 pm. The estimated time for pick up was 8:05 pm. Understandable. I went in at 8 pm to see if my order happened to be ready, she said that it would be a little later than what had been estimated, the manager also looked into it and said it would be a few minutes longer. Understandably so. They were trying to get a large order out to a table, that I could see from the check out station. So I went back to my car. At 8:10 pm I went back in and asked if I could possibly get a time on when it would be ready, again she looked terrified to even ask them. I sat and waited patiently as 3 other doordash pick up orders came in and 2 of those 3 obtained their orders quickly and left. Myself, and one other still waiting. By this time it was 8:20 a full hour after placing the order.
My partner came in as well to check to see what the hold up was as we had a hungry child and it had been well over an hour after we had placed our order. We couldn’t get an answer on whether they were even making our food from the young hostess which he apologized to her noting that he was aware it was not her fault by any means. She quickly got the manager to come out and speak with us. Again. At this time it was about 8:30 The manager then told him that they didn’t receive my order until a few minutes ago… note that this was the same manager I spoke to nearly a half hour prior to the interaction.
We told them to cancel our order and I would go through DoorDash for the refund process.
This is the 3rd time I’ve had an issue with perretts since new ownership that underwent a few years ago, which is unfortunate as I used to love their food, atmosphere and service prior to new ownership. Since then anytime I’ve called in an order for pick up (if they even answer the phone) directly through them, or using DoorDash it has been a nightmare.
I get being frustrated with having DoorDash orders come in, and trying to fulfill orders for patrons in the restaurant and managing online/call in orders. But to have your staff terrified to ask the kitchen for time left for orders to be ready or flat out refusing to give them an answer because it’s an inconvenience is not how you handle it. The restaurants sign up to do the 3rd party service. It is utilized as intended, don’t get angry with the people using the service or those who are just trying to do their job and be the face of your company to assist your paying customers in getting answers. The front house staff takes the brunt of the angry customers.
It’s unfortunate that this situation has happened and has driven me away from even wanting to spend my money at this restaurant ever again, as I stated before it was an amazing family restaurant with customer satisfaction as their #1 priority, morphing into an absolute money hungry business with an unfortunate quality in food decline. Disappointing to say the least. I hope the hostess will be able to find a place of employment where she is treated with kindness and respect and know that in most restaurants the kitchen staff is respectful and kind to the front house staff.
To the owners I really hope you take the negative reviews between Google and DoorDash seriously and change the way your business is being handled. As I stated I’ve been in this industry and I do understand that things get busy and behind but this was not an acceptable incident and there was nothing done to even remotely justify or rectify our...
Read moreWent for dinner last week. Really enjoyed the look of the updated restaurant. As soon as we walked in it was chaotic and just messy. Who I'm assuming is the head waitress was rude to staff and customers. The restaurant was about 75% full and she told the hostess loud enough for customers to hear "There are reservations, we have no room for them!" While figuring out seating the waitress comes back and barks at all the patrons that it'll be a 40 min wait and there was no room for them. The hostess looked mortified. There were two tables left and we were advised it was the coldest room in the building (the kitche, It wasnt bad for me but my parter was cold) We sat down and didn't have time to look at the menu before the "head waitress" requested our drink order. I had a $2.89 iced tea that was less than memorable aside from the price. I also ordered the chicken alfredo which I am pretty good at making at home from scratch so let me tell you when it showed up looking all runny and grainy. My meal was cold half way through. I should have sent it back. My partner enjoyed his pasta but he'd eat a leather jacket so I cant speak as to how his was. We asked for crushed red pepper and the waitress turned to the table next to us and said "you're not using this right?" And placed it on our table. There was a 10-12yr old child bussing tables and he brought our neighbors check and Togo box and left it on our table where it sat for 10 min while the neighboring patrons patiently continued to wait for their check. (We didnt know it was theirs) I ordered tiramisu to go and was given a 2x3" frozen desert that was smashed on one side and WAY overpriced at $8.99. The nicest person in the restaurant was the sweet little hostess who deserves a better job where she's appreciated. The waitress is sure to run her off in a week. Overall I can't imagine I'll go back. Good luck to...
Read moreI treated my siblings to dinner. We each ordered a different entrée. My brother did the Perrett's Combo. My sister the Shrimp Fettuccine and I got the Spaghetti with links. We started with the homemade bruschetta. It was amazing paired with a glass of the Château Michelle Riesling. Our entrée selections were perfect. Portion sizes were generous and flavorful. My only suggestion was to cut the links into bite sizes, as cutting the whole thing in a bowl is a little cumbersome. I would like to see a salad added to the meal or a small basket of garlic bread as a starter, maybe one piece per guest as a nice welcome. We ordered dessert to go and enjoyed it later. We had a take out box for leftovers. Good atmosphere, the temperature was cool and refreshing. Server was somewhat of a newbie and seemed a little uncertain when asked about menu items, wine selection and popular local picks. She was friendly and did well otherwise. All around...
