Complete remodel inside and outside was completed here mid July 2017. The place looks much better now! I have shopped here many times, mostly always a very nice experience.
Nice large grocery store with plenty of parking, and open until late night 7 days a week. The deli has a variety of meats and cheeses and can usually get your order completed pretty quickly. The new deli looks great and the employees are happy to help.
Some of the customers can be interesting, as one lady was complaining about us having 22 items in the 20 and under item lane, sorry, but being loud and rude doesn't resolve the situation, and is more of a way to get yourself hurt if acting that way to the wrong type of person, haha.
The pharmacy was a bit slow with a prescription order that we dropped off at 7pm, and by 7:45 it was still not ready, although we didn't see any other customers, so we went to get some groceries, and when we got back at 8pm, they had already closed and left for the night. So another trip back the next day to get the meds. At least they weren't super important meds.
The shelves are stocked pretty well most of the time, and they seem to have a better meat selection than Publix up the road a short drive. Not the best place, but not the worst, ha. We all need groceries and this place being the closest, makes it the best if not just for convenience.
Prices seem on par with other low cost grocery stores. And they have coupons, a discount card, and deals that can be great such as the spend $30+ and get a 15lbs turkey for only $6, that normally sells for about $30. This was a few days prior to Thanksgiving.
Their deli has hot foods ready to take and go for those on a lunch break or wanting a quick low cost meal. 8 pcs of hot or cold friend chicken is great price of only $6, and they have several other items to choose from too and can...
Read moreIm not happy last two time I've got ground beef it turns brown not even 24 hours in the fridge. Baggers just throw spaghetti sauce in with your bananas. Never going back to winn Dixie.. let me just add that the person that is working at the deli currently it is July 16th 2024. He asked me to go tell somebody and produce that their shoe was untied as I am trying to order sliced deli meat. I was hoping he wasn't here anymore because I'm sure I'm not the only one that he makes feel extremely uncomfortable. Last time I got chicken from the deli and he asked me if I was sure I wanted it. Then he kept on insisting that I try it. Asking me at that time where my 6-year-old was going to school. Because she was with me and wearing a uniform. I'm sorry but no man in his mid-20s has any business asking where my 6-year-old daughter goes to school at. I will not be going to this Winn-Dixie anyway I've already said it before it's convenient cuz it's close but I guess I'll risk my life and go to Sun City with that traffic then feel completely uncomfortable on top of you're always out of stuff and then not to mention the meat that goes bad after one day. There's no reason why ground beef should turn brown unless...
Read moreI do most of my shopping here since they bought Sweet Bay. I was the jerk-face customer that showed up an hour before closing with a two page shopping list. It started to pour about half way through and I ended up being the last customer in the store. It looked to be a manager who checked me out and he was extremely polite. Nobody came up to me to give me a closing reminder, nor did any of the skeleton crew staff give me any impatient or irritating looks at all. I did my best to rush through it, but still ended up a few minutes past closing. The man encouraged me to backup my van to the entrance so I could load my vehicle out of the rain and offered to help me, but I thanked him for being so kind and insisted I would be fine on my own. Every experience is a great one at this store. This was the first time I even came close to closing time, and with the amount of groceries I purchased, and I was very impressed and thankful for the kindness and...
