Had a truly appalling experience at Wok By The Beach. Here's the short version -- you have to place your order by phone/computer so we did. We were charged and got a digital confirmation and were told that our order would take 50 minutes and given the time to show up. Once I arrived, they were clearly super busy, because it took about ten minutes of standing in the front to even get someone's attention to give us our food. Finally, a polite woman named Lina said she would help us (and her being so polite amidst an insane kitchen is the only reason they are getting a "one star" review and not "negative ten stars"). So Lina walks me over to where the "orders to go" are being assembled and -- to make a long story short -- they haven't even put our order into the system yet. It has been billed, we have been notified, but the paper ticker with the order never made it to the kitchen. So we are told that it will take another 40 minutes to make our food. And that we should come back in 40 minutes. And that we will get 50% of the cost taken off of our order for all of the waiting and -- frankly, for their ignoring us and other customers too. And then I come back in 40 minutes, and eventually we did get our food. And they never took 50% off of the bill. The food is perfectly good, but I wouldn't do business with these people. I tried to get the attention of the manager when I was there but he wouldn't even look up from his insane kitchen to try and figure out what was going on. Bad. ...

Food was okay. The presentation was amazing but I found the prices to be too high. -Spider roll 22$. Good, but expensive -Chicken katsu 18$. Honestly amazing. The rice had a sweetness to it that was a nice surprise. -Tom kha soup 8$. A bit flavourless. -Spring rolls 8$. Okay. -Yakisoba with steak 26$. Saucy and sweet. Steak didn't have too much flavour and it was 6$ extra for it. -Stir fried glass noodles with chicken 18$. This one honestly confounded me. It had celery and halved cherry tomatoes which just didn't mix well with the green onions and mushrooms. The white onion pieces were so large it was Impossible to mix everything together. The veggies could have used a bit more cooking as well. -Unagi roll 8$. Hubby thought it was excellent. I agreed. -Fish fingers and fries 14$. My 2yr old ate them. The food was okay. Some great dishes but some came out less than expected. I found it all to be very expensive. 2 adults and 2 kids came out to 135$. AMAZING...

Taste of the food - B+ The miso was missing a lot of that salty flavor, so it it ended up being blander than normal. The tofu is freshly put in so it didn't have the time to soak up the flavor. The spicy mayo on the was a bit light spice for than expected. The saketini with lechee was really good any a nice balance. Get a wonderful soaked fruit on the bottom.

Presentation - A The portion and bowls for the miso is much larger compared to other restaurants we have at other establishments. The muilt-level presentation for the three sushi rolls that we had were wonderful to look at!

Service - The waiter we had was attentive. Reviewed our order three times, especially with the allergies we had. Didn't ignore use while taking care of a 8-10 person party

Environment - Lower light but still well decorated walls. A/C going on full to keep the humidity levels low for being next...

The food was honestly extremely disappointing. We came for sushi and the place had good reviews. But honestly for how expensive some of it was it, it was bad. I work at a sushi restaurant out of state and some of what was served to me would get our chefs fired. The server was nice but I think some of the descriptions were misleading on the menu mostly with the “crack…ers” it was a RITZ Cracker not even full unbroken ones. There were soggy broken ritz crackers with spicy tuna on top for $12. The Salmon Sushi was on the biggest issues as well. The cut was bad. The chef should’ve cut the fish better and trimmed it. It was semi warm and not a good cut. The yellowtail and scallion roll was practically all rice. The Red Dragon Roll was ok, although I don’t believe it was worth $24. Overall disappointing especially since I was taking my friend out for sushi for the first time postpartum.
