Updated review December 2024 Seating and service is much improved. Food arrived correct, quick, and hot. It was absolutely delicious. A good price for what you get.
Updated review June 19th 2021: The restraunt is either very understaffed or very undertrained. Either way, they were quite overwhelmed today on our visit. We were seated quickly, our server was still friendly and attentive, our drinks came out quickly. However, food took almost 45 minutes for 3 pancake orders with 2 eggs and a meat each. Our food did come out hot, so the kitchen was obviously very backed up and struggling. Unfortunately, one of the pancake dishes was raw in the middle. We asked our server to replace it and it was another 15 minutes for 3 pancakes. I do not fault the staff or the kitchen for this. They are overwhelmed and probably understaffed. But until quality and speed of service return, I cannot leave this restaurant at 5 stars. We will update again in a couple months to give the restaurant time to hire and train much needed staff.
Original From January 4th 2021: Even when super busy, the staff is attentive and gets food out quickly. We had a party of 5 and they still made sure all our food came out hot...
Read moreToday, 5/16 @ 530pm I did a Curbside pickup of a Fajita Steak Salad, I asked for Italian dressing, extra meat, which I knew I had to pay extra for. Had done this previously. They just recently opened back up for the evening. The salad was brought to me, the young man took my card to pay, I opened the container, immediately saw there was no extra steak. The young man came out n I advised him of this. He said yes, I see that. After 10 minutes he brought me this tiny container with 5 very small pieces of meat. Wow, I could not believe this. I noticed on my ticket when I got home that they had missed that I said extra meat n I had not been charged for it. A lot of the meat was grisly which had never happened b4. I meet a friend at the Vinton Anthony's and Oak Grove could take some lessons on this salad. It is piled up, the meat is much better quality, tender. It will be awhile b4 I return for Curbside again. Totally disillusioned this time. Since I did not go in I am unable to rate the stars portion of some...
Read moreI’ve been coming to Famous Anthony’s for over 20 years. It used to be a classic, simple, consistent, and full of charm. The relaxed atmosphere and straightforward menu made it a go-to spot for comfort food done right. Unfortunately, things have changed. The building and interior haven’t been updated in decades, but the menu now feels like it's trying to be something it’s not, modern and trendy, which just doesn’t match the vibe of the place. They once had the best burger in town, but now it tastes like low-quality, rubbery meat. Prices have gone up, but the food quality has gone down. One bright spot: breakfast is still solid and worth coming for. It’s tough to say goodbye after so many years, but it just doesn’t feel like the same place anymore. Sometimes, it’s better to let a...
