Hibachi Express — Restaurant in Roanoke

Stopped here on a Sunday afternoon on way back to Bedford from Roanoke. Was so pleasantly surprised to find this wonderful restaurant! it seemed like most people order here and take it to go but they do have seating both tables and booths. We sat at a booth and there was pleasant music playing along with television on the wall with captions on. There was also a very nice fish tank with goldfish. This is a wonderful place. The owners work hard and take pride in their work. We have only been there twice, I generally do not give reviews, but this was a must! They do tons of take out, although we dined in. Our own drinks were allowed, which was great. Prices are more than reasonable. I got the jumbo shrimp platter, it was actually jumbo shrimp, and the price was 12.20....there were no less than 10 shrimp. Go here (orange ave), I think you will be pleased. I’ve heard many wonderful things about the food, and decided to give it a try. We ordered take out and Customer service was friendly and excellent. Unfortunately when we arrived home we were very disappointed with the food. The chicken was dry and overcooked. The shrimp too seemed to be overcooked, it was dry and didn’t have much flavor. And the rice was dry….seemed either undercooked , or reheated. The teriyaki sauce was cold. I usually will not write a negative review, as everyone and every business has off moments.
