I don't know what their deal was yesterday but they had massively under delivered.
I was asked if I needed more time and then asked literally 15 seconds later if I was ready. Said sure because I was getting annoyed at this point to which they asked me if I was sure? How are you going to come back 15 seconds after asking me expect me to have an answer and then belittle me for my uncertainty.
I ordered an egg white omelette as well as biscuit and gravy with the gravy on the side, The Omelette came with regular eggs and was cooked in so much butter that the eggs literally tasted like soggy butter sponges.
The biscuit and gravy was super cold upon arrival.
When I order coffee I expect to be offered refills not given our food and coffee and then just brought the bill and then never talk to again.
My girlfriend's food wasn't much better, And she got annoyed as she had to make eye contact with two people before I had to shout across the restaurant that we needed it to go box for her.
This was an incredibly displeasing experience. It was 1:00 so I'm assuming they were just getting ready for shift change but this was absolutely an excusable from both a service and food perspective. My waitress did not even check to make sure my food was made correctly and did not follow back up with the table after that.
I request contact from the restaurant to try to make up for this incident to reestablish my relationship with them, because if nothing is done I will not...
Read moreI enjoy stopping at a Waffle House! For those of you who view these small little places with trepidation, fear no more! No matter the state or the city, enter a waffle house and you will be warmly greeted. Seat yourself -- counter or booth. A waitress is ready to get you whatever before you settle into your chair. I whole heartedly recommend the pecan waffles, a side of bacon, O.J. and a glass of milk! (I am STUCK on the pecan waffles, so I can't comment about much else. Of note, however - I have never seen or heard anyone complaining about anything on the more than generous menu.)
You might worry about cleanliness-- but you don't have to. A puddle here and there if it's raining, but nothing that would stop the Board of Health in it's tracks. The cutlery isn't from Macy's, nor are the dishes. However, I've never had any trouble shoveling a warm, syrupy bite of pecan waffle off a fork or a less-than-perfect plate.
If you have mastered the ability to enjoy watching the people around you, you will enjoy the banter between waitress and cook as orders are shouted down the galley -like kitchen. Finally, the coffee is always hot and your cup rarely empty.
If you need a break from the road; or, a short escape from your everyday routine, make sure that a trip to Waffle House is on your "go to" list. (And, really -- you have GOT to try their...
Read moreI came here with a group of friends before going to a dance. Granted, we were laughing because we were dressed up at a Waffle House, but we were not being very loud and were some of the only people in the restaurant. We were there for a few minutes and put in our drink orders with a worker who said she was in training. A few minutes later a different worker got our drink orders again for some reason. Then she asked if we were ready to order. We said we needed a few minutes. Maybe a minute later, one of the workers came over to take our orders, we still weren't sure what we were getting, and then she proceeded to yell at us saying we were lucky we were even being served and the first worker had wanted to kick us out. A few of us got food and left soon after because the workers kept on glaring at us and making rude comments. The food was also undercooked.
I will say I had been to this Waffle House several times before with no problems and nice staff.
Update: I have come back many times since this incident, and the food was has been good, but the waiters and waitresses have been better especially big mike/mustache mike/daddy mike/big daddy mike/papa mike/ pookie...
