My wife and I eat out very often and typically go to a steakhouse. Last week we went to Longhorn Steakhouse at Valley View Mall. We had a server who was in training so we gave her some leeway as to our service. We were sat under an a/c vent, which I understand restaurants keep cool for the staff. However it was chilly outside and we froze the entire time. The tea was very watered down, and undrinkable. We ordered an appetizer and it never came. Our salads came at the same time as our meal. It was not a good experience, but the food was good in itself.
Fast forward a week to this weekend. We decided to give it another try. We went in and were sat at 4:30pm before the dinner rush. We ordered our appetizer and food. The tonion came fast as did our salads. The food came shortly after. The appetizer and drinks were good as were the salads and my wifes meal. However, I ordered the steak and red rock shrimp with my steak well done. I want my food dead when I eat it. The shrimp was good but the steak was very pink inside. I asked the waitress to take it back to the kitchen and have them finish cooking it. About 20 minutes later the manager brought back a new steak to me and asked me to check it while at the table. I cut into the steak and it was very rare. Worse than the first time. I told him just take it off the check, I'd pay and we'd go somewhere else to eat. He huffed a bit and said "well she rang it in as medium" (or rare) and stormed off. No apologies, nothing. He was very rude and short. The waitress came back and said she misunderstood. If I wanted it still alive, I would not have asked you to put it back to cook longer.
They did end up bringing another steak, and took the first one off of the bill. However, while we were waiting we saw FOUR other orders being sent back for whatever reason. Also, we didn't leave until well after 6. That's just too long to spend in a restaurant waiting on recook of food. It may of been a bit different if the manager wasn't such a jerk when he brought the food out but it just killed the restaurant for us. Back to back weekends of a bad experience at this location. We will not be returning to Longhorn Steakhouse for a very long time, if ever. If we ever do, it certainly won't be the one in...
Read moreI waited a day to post this review to ensure I had let my emotions settle. I came here Friday evening with some friends, one of whom suffers from a severe gluten allergy.
We asked for the allergy-sensitive menu that this location offers (and has offered us in the past) and was told by our server, Courtney, that that isn't something they have. When our friend made her order and specified it to be gluten free, the server rolled her eyes and said that she'd take care of it.
As our food came out, mine was totally fine (steak and Mac n cheese) however both of my friend's dishes were wrong. One friend's steak was so rare it was almost too cold to even eat and the gluten-sensitive friend took 3 bites and realized immediately she was having a reaction.
We asked for the manager, and after waiting 5 minutes, my friend walked up to him and asked if their seasoning was gluten free, to which he replied "absolutely not" and followed us back to our table. Upon seeing the state my friend was in he claimed to take care of her meal, however as he was discussing this the server took all of our plates, even though we were not finished.
After the server argued with us that "it isn't a real allergy" as our friend is nearly passing out from the severe nausea and splitting headache she is having, my friend became irate and said that the manager would be lucky if his girlfriend didn't have to go to the hospital tonight. We will not be returning if this unprofessional server is still employed here. She deliberately omitted allergy restrictions in a guest's order, and based on previous experience in the restaurant industry, she is lucky that there will not be charged placed against her for assault as serving food someone has stayed to be allergic to is charged as such.
I'm absolutely appalled, I've never felt like such a "Karen" as asking for a manager but based on the server's behavior she should not be working with or...
Read moreSo many things went wrong for us at Longhorn tonight. I've never ate here before, but I definitely don't want to again either! 1 hour wait to be seated... no problem! I understand businesses being short staffed and it being a busy night. Server came over, ordered everything, received an uncut loaf of bread with no knives to cut or butter it. Salads came... still no silverware. Kept reminding the waiter and hosts (who said there was none clean in general!), then dinner arrived. Still no silverware for salads, bread, or steaks! Granted, the server had his hands full, but someone needs to get the memo do not put out food if you don't have silverware to offer with it! So payment time came... we handed over two $25 gift cards. Server rang up one and not the other but proceeded to charge our debit card $60 without consulting us about it first. When mentioning it to him he said the manager told him we should just "come back and try it again, but there's nothing that can be done." So I found someone else to call over the manager and explain we don't want to just "come back and try the gift card again," and the manager stated he was new and didn't know what to do. Long story short, he found another employee that refunded us the $60 and ran both gift cards through. For such bad accommodations we should've received some sort of compensation, but that wasn't important. Steaks were good once we received silverware, but this place is NOT worth the prices they charge, at least not on a Sunday!! (Also take note of the dirty plate they put the filet on… the spec of cheese melted on when I ordered nothing that...
