I visited the Roanoke JCPenney store yesterday. I was shopping for a new set of sheets which I did find. The sheets were on sale and there was a QR code to save an additional 30%. I'm old school and had to fumble with my phone to take a picture of the QR code and then scroll through the website to find the bar code for the bedding discount. After finding the QR code, I went up to the checkout register and stood behind a mom and her son. The store associate acknowledged me as I waited. This gal was doing her job and started suggesting that the people could save "X" if they signed up for a JCP credit card. I continued to wait while the young man typed in all the necessary information into the little credit card keypad. I totally understand all this was necessary for the man to save a considerable amount of money. I continued to wait approximately 10 minutes for this entire transaction to conclude. Once the young man filled out the information and got ready to pay, the mom started asking questions about the different prices. Clearly, there were supposed to be discounts and or QR codes etc. to be applied. After a few more minutes of waiting, I decided to find another register. I ended up having to go upstairs and around the store, asking a man at the jewelry counter where to go. I finally made it to another register and was rung up fairly quickly. This associate did her job and asked the same question about saving "X" if I signed up for the JCP credit card and I politely said no. After the transaction was complete, I had to wait again. The sheets I was purchasing had a security tag attached which the clerk could not remove. She had to call someone on the radio to come and assist. This nice man showed up about 3 minutes later and attempted to remove the tag. He ended up having to take my sheets to another part of the store to remove the tag. I continued to wait another 10 minutes or so to get my purchase and leave the store. While I'm sure this doesn't happen very often, it was quite frustrating. I will continue to shop at this store but wish the first clerk could have called someone to the back-up register. I also wish this store and others like it would just simply mark the items down to a decent price and not make us have to jump through hoops to save a few dollars here and there with QR codes, on-line coupons etc. While I would like to save money, I usually just don't put forth the effort as it can be quite frustrating. Thank you for...
Read moreI had a bad experience with the cashiers. I was there to purchase a tie. I see a sign that says 50% off so I look and find a nice tie I like. Original price $50 so I think 🤔 $25 not bad. I take it to register. Mind you I never really go to JCPenney or retail clothing stores bc I'm uhh pretty much poor. The cashier asked if I wanted to sign up for their REWARDS CARD and save 30%. I asked if it was on top of the 50% that was already discounted. He said yes. So he asked me some questions and I put my SSN in the key pad. While going through this process I ask what benefits I get with this REWARDS CARD. He explains some discounts , and benefits. Then he says oh we'll it looks like you're not approved for the JCPENNEY CREDIT CARD. That's when I realized he just scammed me into applying for their store credit card!!! Of course I should have been suspicious when I had to enter my SSN, but being so caught up in maybe saving enough money to be able to buy some extra groceries I just overlooked it. For some it's not a big deal, but for me that hard inquiry on my credit will put another 4 months on me getting approved on a moped. That means another 4 months of riding the bus, and not having any transportation! On top of that the tie wasn't actually 50% off it was buy the get the second one discounted. So I put that one back and found a nice one that was actually on sale for $10 😊 when I checked out this time I politely told the lady cashier that I didn't need a bag bc I was wearing a back pack. She said I'll give you anyway just to be safe, and so you can advertise for JCPENNEY. My thoughts 🤔 where safe from what a bear 🐻 attack? Anyway I left the bag there. Wow that's a long review. Have a...
Read moreI have 2 rings under life time warranty. Jc pennys has had them for 3 months. They called me a month and a half ago, quoting prices to thichen or just fix the band, and I had to reiterate, a. You've had my rings over a month and are just now calling me and b. I have life time warranty, there is no cost. That also wanted to verify the size, which should also ready be there from when I dropped the rings off. Another month and a half goes by with no calls. I start calling and can't get answers or calls back. I call customer service, and finally they call and tell me that both my rings are miraculously there and ready for pick up. I get there, and it still had missing stones. 3 months of having my ring, and it's still not fixed. Barbara was very helpful, she called Charles who was not very helpful and was very flippant and said well send it back. Barbara points out, it's been 3 months and just came in. He calls Sue, and she too says it's not much to do, they can send it back and do a week expedite. We'll, today is a week. No call. I call them and now they are saying it could be the end of this week or maybe the beginning of next week. So much for that week expedite huh. If I'd have known how hard and unreliable the work orders were with protection plans through this jewlery department, id have never purchased jewlery here. Everytime I bring it, they have it month, which I guess is normal Because they have to send it out but 3 months!!!???? Come on jc penny, do better! I'll never buy more...
