My family (2 adults and I) went here a few weeks ago and had good experience and great food! Didn't know what to expect with it being an old Applebee's, but was pleasantly surprised by the at atmosphere the new decor gave. Sitting inside at the peak of dinner time, it was enjoyable.
Although it was full, we were seated quickly at one of the booths. For drinks we ordered two Agua Fresas (which come in a regular glass) and a Strawberry Lemonade (which comes in a small plastic trashcan). To our surprise, although we were originally told there would be free refills, apparently only the first refill is free and then the other you have to pay for for the Agua Fresas. In another surprise, the strawberry lemonade which we thought was a regular drink purchase was made at the bar so we we're charged $7 with no free refill on it. Considering you don't get to keep the glass, we wish that would have been explained to us better earlier.
Looking at the menu, can be a little intimidating at first, but there is a wide range of options for whatever you're nat to spend. While a fourth of the menu is within the $13 - $20 range, it is more accurate, in my opinion, that you should expect to spend between $25 - $40 on your food if you're trying to get one of the more speciality seafood dishes on their menu and not general Tex-Mex options. Even with a surplus of those options, you will also see a fourth of the menu has items in the $50 to $80 range, with some even being over $100. The higher priced items come out very large so we saw a lot of people purchasing those for their table and sharing. Market priced items seemed to be about $50 or above.
Overall, most of our food was cooked great and the flavors were superb. My only complaint would be that I prefer Elote to be firmer/more grilled and mine was a little soft. The spice they use for most of the dishes may be a little spicy for those with a super mild tongue.
We would come to this restaurant again and recommend trying this place for your birthday for a high energy treat!

My first and last time dining at this restaurant. I ordered an octopus dish, and it was completely disgusting, smelled foul and tasted far from fresh. On top of that, it was drenched in an excessive amount of mayonnaise-like sauce, making it inedible. Two other dishes were ordered, and they were just okay, but nothing special. I posted a picture of the fish-this was dry and needed a light sauce. We requested lemon to squeeze over it. The rice was nasty.
What truly disappointed me was how the situation was handled. The octopus dish was only $9, which is nothing to me, but the fact that the manager refused to take it off our bill was frustrating. When he came to our table, he had a dismissive, careless attitude and simply stated that the menu lists the ingredients. That wasn’t the issue, the problem was the smell and quality of the food. Instead of addressing our concerns, he refused to accommodate us in any way.
To make matters worse, I ended up having to leave the restaurant and wait in the car for my husband because I suddenly felt extremely sick. I started sweating and had horrible stomach pain. When I got home, I began throwing up. If this continues, I will be going to the hospital to check for food poisoning.
Despite everything, we still tipped our waitress 20% because she was friendly and attentive, it wasn’t her fault. Unfortunately, the manager’s lack of customer service and poor attitude ensured that we won’t be returning. He was also the only staff member not wearing a name tag. Overall, a...
Read moreGood experience, good food, good service, overwhelming Menu options... Chips were crisp, and large / unbroken. My wife and I are debating whether they were Fresh or store bought. Salsa was not overly impressive - seemed store bought. My wife ordered the Ribeye and Grilled Shrimp. She said it was cooked Medium as requested. The shrimp was nicely prepared and flavored well. I ordered the Sushi Boat - which is essentially two of their other Sushi trays delivered on the boat - intended for 2, but at a nice discount relative to buying the other two separately ($34 for the boat vs $19 each separately - or so I recall). The Sushi was nicely prepared and very flavorful. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Honestly, it was too much for one person - and one of the separate orders would have been enough for me. I did enjoy trying both. I wish the menu actually described the rolls beyond just the names. Never found a list of beers on the menu, it may have been there, I just didn't find it by the time the server came up. We were there mid-afternoon, so not crowded. Service was fast and server responsive. Just not overly informative. Wife for instance wanted something with shrimp and asked server for options. Only one offered is what she ordered. One intersting observation was regarding the pepper shaker, refilled while wet leaving pepper stuck to the side. Not sure how sanitary that is, suggesting hand washed vs dishwasher washed. Overall still a good experience and will likely return to try...
