Updated 3/5 I haven't been here in a while and like most places the menu is more limited than precovid. We went there last Sunday, 2/28. The staff were nice but in covid world seem to be distant like most other places I've been. I tried a couple of the beers, super space brothers and heckin shredit, I wasn't overly impressed with either and we had actually gone there for the beer. The ipa was decent, not bad or good and the dipa literally tasted like the same beer, with significant noticeable differences. It wasn't hoppy at all and while they appeared to both be hazy, it wasn't very rich in flavor from other hazy ipas I've tried. Not bad, not great either.
They add a livable wage fee to your meal of 18%, so while I support that it might have been better to bury it in the cost, perception wise if just seemed like a 40% tip if you have a normal tip. They didn't add this to the listed price so the cost of fries for example seemed excessive. Again, I support the need for a livable wage but the perception was that I paid $14 for an order of fries all said an done.
They allow you to make reservations up until 30 minutes to close and while the said it wasn't a big deal, it definitely felt like we were being hurried as the place was being cleaned and everyone gone. Since it took 30 min to get the pizza it just felt like a poor experience... Unless you're in a hurry, make a reservation at least an hour before close.
The food as always was delicious but with the combination of covid and failed expectations on the beer it wasn't the same as my last experience. Looking forward to the end of covid!
This was an awesome happenstance find, the bartender/waiter was amazing friendly and could put on a show. The food was delicious, had the pork belly kimchi, Diana Ross pizza, and Piggy Pie pizza. I also tried the Ron Burgundy, wow. This was a fun place to go, the wait wasnt that long and the service and presentation was...
Read moreFirst time coming here. Ordered a non-alcoholic drink and was given an alcoholic drink, without realizing it. (I don't drink alcohol. My partner tried it and confirmed it had alcohol in it.) When I ordered I physically pointed clearly to the "Spirit Free" menu "NA Seltzer $4" and asked about flavors as it says they rotate. Server told me 2 options, I ordered one. Got it, drank it (tasted great). Thought nothing of it. Get the bill. It says "Hard Seltzer $7." I point it out to the server and say "But I ordered an NA Seltzer." She said "Oh, no hmm that's a Hard Seltzer" and pointed at my drink. I said, "Wait, there's alcohol in this?" She said, "Yes." ... My partner and I looked at each other, clearly upset, and I said, 'Oh, that's a problem..." She said quickly "Oh, I can take it off the bill, miscommunication on my part." ..And walked away... That was it. She's lucky I'm not alcoholic-in-recovery sober. I don't drink alcohol because it makes me feel like absolute crap. So, now I feel like crap. If I was her I would have been mortified by the "miscommunication" and comped the bill. I would acknowledge that my error could have destroyed someone's sobriety. Besides the food being great, the patio was noisy with music and a loud group at the communal table where we were sat. We won't be going back. See pictures. I'd suggest changing the language on the menu to not call an NA drink by a typically alcoholic beverage name, let alone a drink you actually serve (Hard Seltzer that is brewed there). This type of confusion could have devastating consequences. Now I know about the QR code. Wish I had used the QR code instead of interacting with a server who didn't want to be working and couldn't take an...
Read moreMy wife and I went for the first time this weekend after a long time of intending try it out. First thing I noticed was the space; large, open, clean and modern. You can sit at the bar and see nearly all the kitchen/bar activity. Staff was very friendly too - so far, we’re looking good! Second thing we noticed was the 21% “living wage fee” on the menu! 21%! Now, I am a 25% tipper for any good experience but certainly not today, a tip is not compulsory, it is a custom and a good one in our society. Why would a restaurant do that? Your local gas station doesn’t charge a “living wage fee” when you fill up with gas. Heck, super progressive companies like Starbucks and Target don’t charge an extra fee to buy coffee and a scone or a pair of pants and some toilet paper. They just do, what businesses have done for hundreds of years- they charge more for the product. It is why hamburgers don’t cost $0.15 any more! To me, it is an wildly political, virtue signally, passive aggressive statement from the ownership. They are basically admitting their business can’t pay people fairly on their own. I own a small business that supplies landscape materials to the market. We pay our full time warehouse staff a minimum of $18 hour and I don’t charge an extra fee to do it nor do put small print on my invoices telling people that we’re so proud of ourselves because of it. To close, the food was great BTW, keep making a good product, your business will be successful and you can pay people what you believe them to be worth but...
