I haven’t been here in a few years to eat. They totally remodeled since my last visit. Very different look and feel. While it was due for an update, not a fan of all the TV’s, half dead plants stuck to the windows. Bucket of napkins, crumpled straws, and silverware at the table. Gives a very cluttered, unkept feel.
Our service was crazy slow. We came in at 11:10am and by the time we left it was 1:06pm. We waited a long time for someone to bring us a menu after we were seated. We had dessert and drink menu, but not food menu. She finally brought them and drinks. We then waited over 30 minutes for her to take our order. We selected 2 pizzas for our group of three. Took about 25 minutes to make the pizza as one would expect. First pizza came out. The second pizza was a good 10 minutes behind. The other person shared ours. But we got the thin crust and it was super burnt on all the edges. I wouldn’t recommend this type of crust. Finally the other pizza arrived. It was okay. It was the chicken Alfredo pizza on New York style crust. The crust was MUCH better than the thin burnt crust on our first pizza. We waited about 25 minutes after we ate to get a bill & box. It was loud and just an unappealing atmosphere. I’m guessing like all restaurants, they are short staffed. The waitress was kind, but totally unaware of our needs. We spent more time waiting then anything. The three of us happened to be off work when we visited. I’m unsure if you can get in & out quickly over a lunch unless you buy the pre-made pizza and drink special. The pizza was served hot. Lots of fresh toppings- nothing frozen or canned. The burnt crust was a big let down for me. The milk shake was huge, cold and delicious- but made with ice milk vs...
Read moreWhile preparing a Chef Boyardee pizza kit in 1963 Mark Fulton’s father conceived the idea that led to the founding concept of Mr. Pizza. Steeped in tradition and family ties, Mr. Pizza remained a mama and papa pizzeria till 2019. In 2020, Championship Dining (Hot Chip Burger Bar) took the helm and the traditions with it. Exterior displays a vibrant mural on one side, white and brick on the front and patio on the other side. Interior is open concept with tiled floor, vaulted industrial ceiling, padded bar stools, metal chairs and high top tables throughout the middle. Padded booths L shape two walls of windows making the place airy and bright. Bar claims another wall and a pass through window gives a peek into the kitchen. A bit of confusion when we entered as there seems to be an order counter when you come in, which we were directed to, but when we sat down noted menus on the table. No real clarity was given, but being we were only ordering pizza by the slice it worked out fine. I went with the slice of the day and got the Pepperoni, bacon Cheeseburger. Fairly decent size slice with plenty of toppings buried in cheese. Temperature wasn’t exactly desirable and the denser style crust was undercooked. But, the overall takeaway was doable and staff did their jobs. Additionally one has options of take home frozen pizzas, garlic/cheddar breads, hoagies, cheesecake and...
Read moreAMAZING pizza and wings! The Sicilian had the best sauce and ultra flavorful andouille sausage. I haven't had a pizza experience that mind blowing in years. Also had the Hawaiian Alfredo. Not something I'd generally go for but they made it work so well! The BBQ wing sauce was right on and the spicy chili sauce was stellar. I didn't even have to ask; the perfectly fried and sizable wings came with celery, blue cheese, AND ranch. Pepsi was a bit watery. They need to increase their syrup levels. Gluten free crust was perfect on the outside and undercooked in the middle. This is fairy common with this type of crust, so watch your methods in the future. Fortunately the darn pizza was so tasty, we couldn't stop to complain! The service was PERFECT! Teaki(sp) provided the best service I've ever experienced at a restaurant under the $150 level. She was highly attentive while being conscientious about privacy, perceptive to needs, on time with all aspects of the meal, warm, genuine, patient, and she even carefully wrapped the pizza to-go with layers of foil so one flavor wouldn't touch the other.
Despite the issues, I can't help but give Mr. Pizza five stars. To give anything less would be a travesty due to the unbeatable savory perfection of their food and the keen aptitude of...
