I really wanted to like this place, but the problems just kept stacking up.
My party of 2 adults and 2 kids were sat at a tiny booth. Elbow to elbow, knee to knee with the table right in our chests. We are all thin, my kids are younger than 8.
I asked what beers they had on tap, waiter named a few and I chose one. Then he brought me a can. When I tried to say something, he did not understand my concern. If I wanted a can of beer I would go to a gas station.
We asked if the kids meals came with drinks included and we were told "yes". When the check came, we were charged extra for each of them. I pointed it out, and again, the understanding was miminal. No resulotion.
I ordered a $19 "specialty meal", 4 fajitas with prawns. It came out with 4 small strips of chicken, 4 small strips of beef, rice, beans and a tablespoon of guacamole and sour cream. Each of the 4 fajitas was just tiny, pathetic and skimpy. In no way was it worth $19.
Ask the waiter for more water, never got it.
Overpriced in relation to comparable Mexican restaurants. Seems like twice the price for half of the food I am use to getting at Mexican restaurants. Combined with a physically uncomfortable seating experience, we will...
Read moreYou can stop looking, this is the place that you want. (Well you do have to look a little because it is a little hard to find).
Located in the floor level of an old classic hotel in the historic center of town and run by a family. If you like authentic mexican food, this is as good it gets. If you want american tofu mexican food go find a chain restaurant.
When I was out working at the power plant I asked the Mexican scaffolding foreman where the best mexican food was in town and he said to go here (alway go to the source). He was right, classic old historic hotel building, classic old restaurant that looks like it belongs on an old mexican beer calendar and GREAT AUTHENTIC Mexican food. Drive a little further and skip the chain restaurant to go here, you will be glad...
Read moreI love this place. A lot. But I've been avoiding most places because of the coronavirus. Then I found out that the staff here are 100% encouraging patrons to mask up, are providing hand sanitizer at each table, and are spacing patrons out as much as possible. Big plus for me! But, y'all aren't wanting to hear about that. Y'all wanna know about the food. I ordered the smothered burritos with pork. Absolutely amazing. Would recommend to anyone. Pics included. My wife had the chicken enchiladas. She usually doesn't eat much, but those enchiladas didn't stand a chance. The wait staff were polite and attentive, as always. I've never had a complaint about the staff in my years of coming here. TL;Dr, check this place out if you're in the area....
