This has to be the worst restaurant within a 30-mile radius. Located off exit 37 of HWY 80 in Rockaway, NJ, it’s unfortunately the closest place to my house that serves breakfast. Yet, I always make a point to drive past and not stop. The food quality is consistently disappointing, and the service leaves much to be desired. Even when convenience tempts me, I find seeking better options elsewhere worth the extra mile. Don't settle for less when far superior choices are available, even if it means a bit of a drive. I ate here last weekend, hoping for a hearty lumberjack meal, but my experience could have been more satisfying. I ordered scrambled eggs with cheese, expecting a well-prepared dish. However, what I received was disappointing—the eggs were barely scrambled and topped with two slices of cheese that were scarcely melted. Adding to the subpar meal, the butter accompanying the pancakes was half frozen, making it impossible to spread. Moreover, despite arriving alone and ready to order, I waited 10 minutes before my waitress approached to take my drink order. Such inattentive service and lackluster food quality made the entire visit unenjoyable. I cannot recommend eating at this place if you're seeking a fulfilling dining experience. Save time and money on a venue that values food quality and customer service.

I unfortunately have to give this diner a bad rating because of unethical business practices being conducted on the part of the owner. On the front door there is a note (pictures) stating that addition fees will be arbitrarily added to your bill - and a fine example of this can be seen on my check. Before even getting to the register, if you look closely, a "non cash adjustment" was added to my bill. Being a diner, it is normal to receive your receipt first before going to the register. The intention of this is clear - to charge unwitting customers an additional fee in the hopes of pulling a fast one over on them. In the end, while my food was decent and waitress was fantastic, However, I unfortunately can't condone this type of practice. Let people know that a fee will be added for credit cards and add it at the time of checkout just like everyone else does. If you think this will make you look bad, then perhaps you should look in the mirror. But trying to scam people - even for sums as low as 50 cents should not be accepted by customers. Thank you to Keara for being fantastic!

Absolutely luv luv luv a Diner that gives the feel of a 1950's Diner as this Diner gave that feel with 1950's music playing, waitress had the most cutest voice n her service was on point and quick with comebacks to make us giggle and she made us feel like we were repeat customer as it was our 1st time at this Diner cause we were passing through the area. Now let's get to the juice part, idk where you can get a home soup, salad, cooked meal n a homemade dessert for $24 yes that's right all the dishes that came to the table was $24 & UNDER!!! Each dish was tastier than the next dish, when you are able to slice the short ribs with your fork, it's sliced like butter, there were so much food left over that we got doggie bags to go. My dish tri color tomatoes, mushrooms n hearts with pasta was even tastier eaten cold the next day. I will be stopping at this Diner again next time I am on this town.... Highly recommend you come on down, you wont be disappointed...

We love going here -- great good, good prices (in comparison to other diners in the area), and good atmosphere, and great staff! The staff is super friendly and really cares, and puts the extra effort in the remember the names of customers (and no, you don't have to be there every day for them to remember you -- we probably go about 2x per month). The renovations they did on the inside and outside a couple a of years ago were nice, but they do seem to be aging already, unfortunately. Otherwise, the menu is quite extensive and has a little bit of something for everyone, and the array of desserts are freshly made and extremely delicious! They offer take-out/to-go as well (although they don't deliver). Handicap accessible; sufficient on-site parking; public/guest restrooms available; easily accessible when coming off Interstate-80 (Route 80 / I-80) in either direction also makes it convenient for anyone out-of-town or travelers that just happen to be passing through, especially since the diner is open 24 hours during the summer, on weekends in the off-season and is other open until midnight any other day in the off-season (sometimes it's one of the only places to get a decent meal anywhere around here after 10pm or so. Highly...

Coming up to North Jersey several times the past few years I have always seen the sign along I-80 for the Hibernia Diner and thought that one day I would have to stop in and see how they were. This past week I was once again in the area but wanted to check out all my options so I of course checked the Google reviews of about 5 or 6 places and had narrowed it down to two different ones and since the other would have been during the breakfast time frame and I wanted lunch I decided to go to Hibernia. The other favorable reviews were accurate that it is in fact a friendly eatery with from what I saw people who make you feel like they are glad you stopped in. The diner was clean and the tables comfortable however I thought the prices of the meals were just a little on the high side but then I am basing that on South Jersey Diners so I don't know what this area costs to live in but I'm guessing it too is high. On the plus side though the size of the meal was such that I was able to return home with leftovers that were enough for a lunch meal the following day, a meal that actually tasted a little better than when I first ate it. Check out my comments in the pictures for...
