Isla Del Mar — Restaurant in Rockford Township

Presentation of food: EXCELLENT.

Unfortunately, this was about the only good thing about this place...

The steak burrito was cold, rice and beans were also cold. The "camarones a la diabla" was not spicy (it is supposed to be spicy). And out waitress forgot to bring some of the beverages and silverware.

It seemed as if there were a lot of employees there but it still took a long time to receive our food. The waitress only stopped by one time as we were finishing to ask if everything was ok.

Perhaps the most disturbing thing was a waitress grabbing a floor rug, pulling it, then proceeding to serve food WITHOUT washing her hands. I can attest to this because she never left my sight from where I was sitting.

Judging from the fact that people were coming and going the entire time we were there, I'm assuming this place is an excellent place and I just had horrible service by a waitress having a bad day. I was excited to eat at this place. Wasn't what I expected. The food was horrible. I order a mocajete for my wife and I. It Didn't have any flavor. So we waited for our waitress to come to order somthing else. They never stoped to see if we need anything.We looked around so they knew we needed somthing else but the girl by the bar looked at us but didnt help us out. I had to go to the bar my self and order for my wife. So she order camarones ala diabla. I think they don't know that camarones ala diabla are hot not sweet and ketchupy.they were the worst camarones i had ever tried! At the end when we where puting out jackets getting ready to leave the waitress finally stoped if we needed any boxes. We left very unhappy!!Very dissapointed! Horrible restaurant! The food is mediocre. The service is awful. PEOPLE BEWARE, THE TIP IS ALREADY INCLUDED IN THE CHECK, AND THEY DON'T TELL YOU! I saw people leaving tips at the table because they did not take the time to read the receipt with the gratuity included on there already. BAD SERVICE!! WAITRESS took our drink order 10 mins after we sat down. She never checked on us throughout our sitting. We had to go up to the cashier to ask for a box to go, and she didn't even offer us a bag. It's obvious they provide awful customer service because they're already guaranteed a tip on the receipt! PEOPLE YOU'RE ALLOWED TO REFUSE TO TIP IF THE SERVICE WAS AWFUL. There are better seafood restaurants close to the area, my advice is to Stay away...
