Olivo Taco - Rockford — Restaurant in Rockford Township

The food here is actually good, which makes the terrible service even more infuriating. My husband and I are always polite and patient towards service workers , but the way we were treated at this taco truck was completely unacceptable. On Saturday, they gave us the wrong salsa on our tacos. My husband asked nicely if they could just add the correct one on top .. which isn’t a big deal.. not remake anything, just fix their mistake. Instead of doing it politely, they refused at first, and when they finally did it, they did it with extreme attitude, like we were asking for the impossible. We stayed calm and didn’t argue, but we left feeling frustrated.

We decided to give them another chance on Tuesday, but it was the same employees. From the moment they saw us, it was obvious they were unhappy we came back rolling their eyes and showing clear attitude. Still, we stayed kind, placed our order, and waited patiently. Then things got ridiculous: customers who ordered after us, dozens of them, were served first. First five people, then three more, then four more .. every single time, we were ignored. Even other customers started asking how long we had been waiting. We politely said about 20 minutes and continued to wait, trying not to make a scene.

Finally, my husband asked again what was going on. They brushed him off with a vague “it’s coming,” but more people kept getting served before us. It wasn’t until a woman who had been observing from her car confronted them that they finally gave us our food claiming it had been “lost.” I saw them pull it from the side where it had clearly been sitting the entire time. Cold. Soggy.

It was obvious they were deliberately punishing us for politely asking them to fix a small mistake a few days earlier. We left feeling unwelcome, disrespected, and honestly angry. The food is good, but no meal is worth being treated this way. This level of hostility and unprofessionalism is completely unacceptable. I've always enjoyed the Taco truck service & thought about trying out their sit down restaurant. I'll never go back. Stopped In for the 1st time Sat 07/13 at 1pm. The young girl at the register told us to go around to the left side to order instead of the Rt Side. (Sorry paisa. My 1st time) Husband & I had to repeat our order in both English & Español x3. Once paying, we weren't told to take a seat...nada. We sat down & as I read the receipt the order was STILL wrong smh! I went up & told la chica we ordered our tacos with everything (Cebolla, Cilantro y Limon) instead she took it upon herself to do it the American way (Cheese, sour cream & lettuce). I told her we wanted them Mx style not American. Again, I told her in English & Español. She refused & said the order was already in & there was nothing she could do. I requested my $ back & told her I would go elsewhere since that's not what I had ordered. She shook her head, took the receipt from me & just ran to the kitchen without saying a word. Common Raza! A simple apology would have gone a long way. I waited & she came back out & went back to the register. Not a word was said to us. Instead she and another young lady gossiped about us & kept eyeing us. I was livid by this point. I'm paying you for a service Paisa & she didn't have the respect to say a thing to us. The order finally came out & ofcourse the drinks where missing. All I can say mija is Stay In school & get a degree. Customer Service is not your specialty. I drive for different food services and see when you order from a place they get the order and i get the choice of it so i do and i get a time to be there its usually enough time for the restaurant to het the food done nine out of ten but it depends but almost everytime i go to some places like here there is one girl thats been there since the start and she is mean she i feel actually gets off on it and today after a couple years of going there and getting her passive aggressive i dont know what cause its with some people and when i get there the food should be and has been ready to go i dont lnow anybody im just hettimg the food and out making money cause ive done alot of jobs in all fifty states and mexico and i dont and wont put up with disrespect for customers and or disrespect for the employee either but today im done with olivias taco on college rockford belvidere they are so nice and they were nice when they had just the truck but yeah and this isnt the only store ive also said about popeyes any of them except maybe the one on central and auburn they are buisisness and beef a roo on auburn theres one manager who is very unprofessional and ive never had a problem but nope done and rosatia on mulford and riverside nope the girl at the counter nope very rude ive been doing this for about 7 years through the pandemic so yeah have a great day go at your own risk...
