I have been involved in some capacity at SSGA since its beginning, and my experience there has shaped my life! I began in recreational classes and camp before transitioning to competitive gymnastics. As a young adult, I come back to coach when I am home from college as I appreciate the culture. I am still in touch with many teammates and former coaches today! Gymnastics is an endeavor known for shaping successful individuals later in life, but SSGA goes above and beyond. It is undoubtedly true that SSGA instills confidence and character through gymnastics, but it extends outside of the sport for young athletes in other areas of their lives. Read moreBEWARE - If you plan to join a competitive team, consider sending your gymnast elsewhere. The environment is unhealthy, toxic and at times, hostile. Gymnasts who were here when they were very young have left and it is strongly exhibited by the lack of gymnasts in the upper levels. If you know anything about the sport, you know that although gymnasts naturally peel off, this is an indicator that there is something else going on at this particular gym. Emotions and disappointment will not be tolerated at SSGA. By the time you realize that my review is accurate, your daughter will be negatively impacted by this and will be someone who doubts herself, her abilities, and exhibits low self-esteem.
